I am curious how you do a thing on GIMP so i will demonstrate it by using two pictures....

Here's the background picture:

blue-background.jpg

Here's the picture i want to "Melt" with the background:

super_sonic.jpg

Now i do not want to get it made for me: i want help on how you do this on GIMP.

Thanks

So you want to merge that image into the background?I would say that the easiest, quickest way and possibly not the best way would be just changing the layer modes(thats what they call it in gimp)

Obviousley its ebtter to use the paths tool to render the focal point if its a character or just cut out the white background to make it clearer but i supose i would need to know what you meant by melt?

Melt as in make the Main picture go well along with the background

And please can you explain more how you did that things? and try to use easy language, hehe soz.

Im gimp noob..and its so hard to get it :? :? :? even though ive tried experiementing with tools

I suggest setting the layer that is on top to a different blend setting.

Okay put the Sonic guy in the doc with the background as a new layer. You can try changing the Sonic (I don't know who he is) layer settings to overlay, screen, or change the opacity so it blends into the background.

But blue and yellow don't really go together.

And this should probably be moved to the gallery.
