Lil_Flip
Why don't these play in Windows Media Player? Can someone tell me how to play them?
blade995
i believe it's a quicktime extension. Download quicktime (if you don't have) at http://www.apple.com On the file, right click> open with> quicktime
battletrax
i believe it's a quicktime extension. Download quicktime (if you don't have) at http://www.apple.com On the file, right click> open with> quicktime That's incorrect. Avi is an extension that doesn't say a whole lot about the file. There are dozens (probably hundreds) of video codecs (the type of video file more or less) that use the avi extension. If you can't play an avi in windows media player, you don't have the right codec for that particular file. You can try using gspot(

____
Doom9 is all you need :) Never had a problem with obscure codecs since I went there. It used to annoy me a lot when some avi's you play, go to the next one on the cd and it wouldn't :x
Darkelf0
Indeed, Avi, stands for Audio-Video Interchange. Mpeg-4 codecs such as Xvid, DivX and alikes can compress it, so depending on what codec compressed it, you need that codec on your machine to view it. If that machine is in the Microsoft List of Codecs, then media player will grab the codec from the net and then view the film, if not you gotta get it yourself.
