August 13, 200817 yr There are 197949 total topics. I think there ar 20 topics to a page. That us aout 9898 pages. Doesn't that take up a lot of server space holding that many topics? Maybe you could delete all but 10-20 pages of topics for each section of the forums. Would that ,perhaps, increase the loading time of some topics? August 13, 200817 yr Author You know, some of us do actually read those older topics... -.- So you go though 935 pages of topics in Help and Advice? Maybe delete 300 of those pages? I doubt everyone reads back that far. [software Engineer] - [Ability Bar Suggestion] - [Gaming Enthusiast]

I doubt everyone reads back that far. I just checked, and yes, I have some very old topics bookmarked in Help and Advice. Just because it's old, doesn't mean it's worthless. 8,325th to 99 Firemaking 3/9/08 | 44,811th to 99 Cooking 7/16/084,968th to 99 Farming 10/9/09 | Runescaper August 2005-March 2010Tip.it Mod Feb. 2008-Sep. 2008 | Tip.it Crew Sep. 2008-Nov. 2009

I doubt everyone reads back that far. Not necessarily in Help & Advice, but many people do look through tens of pages in forums that are interesting to read (discussion forums, Rate This forums with impressive achievements, etc.). In certain forums, old topics used to be pruned. If this action has ceased, then I don't see any reason why topics can't be pruned in certain forums (Help & Advice, Graveyard Help & Advice, etc.).. for similar reasons as to why topics are pruned in the Marketplace and Clan Recruitment. Old help topics just aren't needed anymore. But in forums like General Discussion, RuneScape Bugs & Suggestions, Off-Topic, and other DISCUSSION forums, etc., threads should not be pruned. People constantly reference old threads, use the Search function to locate old threads, some people actually do look through tens of pages in forums (mostly forums like Rate This or The Gallery). - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
August 14, 200817 yr I've read most of the older pages in Off-Topic, T&C, The Gallery, & 2/3s of the way done of General. The information that you'll find if you do read all of the pages is astonishing. I'm against deleting or getting rid of the information from the public eye. It's just too good of a database.
August 14, 200817 yr I still search for threads from 2006 every once in a while, mostly on Off Topic... Nah, unless the admins are really worried about server space it is unneeded.
August 14, 200817 yr Unless the Administrators are going to need extra server space, then there is no need to delete those threads. Why? Because some people like to go back and look at old, historic topics and see how times have changed, etc. And plus, if you deleted those topics, peoples post counts would go down considerably. My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.
