August 16, 200817 yr But frankly, we in Britain buy from Walmart (ASDA) and Tesco, so it would be deeply hypocritical for us to sit on our high horse and lecture the world on an issue which we are causing ourselves, and a problem we contributed to in the days of the Empire, by pillaging and raping the Africans from their resources so we could build our economic wealth. Yet you still do it. Actually, my family has never bought from those stores. The Empire is also the sole reason I refuse to be called British. Not all of us take delight in dominating the world to our will, jack. ;) Nevertheless, living my idealist socialist lifestyle in a capitalist structure would be totally naive. Hence why the system needs to be changed. So please don't bother inferring I'm a hypocrite when my life and everything it stands for clearly says otherwise. Okay so? My family has never shopped at wal-mart. Does that make me special too? And you actually refuse to be called british? Do you prefer english or something? England isn't that bad of a place. The food is terrible but that's nothing to be ashamed of. Where did I say I'm special? Do you argue digressed points for fun or something? My point had absolutely nothing to do with me or how I live my life. And frankly, I don't see what business it is of yours anyway. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
August 16, 200817 yr My social studies teacher explained it great to me, China is trying make their image in the world the best possible...so they put kids with straight teeth lip syncing, add fireworks through computer graphics, good uniforms, nice buildings, attractive people, and more I am sure. Wal-mart may pay minimum wage but they bring millions out of poverty around the world. Not to mention saving families money in the United States. And it's my business when you start on your whole "The United States is evil, capitalism is evil, wal-mart is an evil corporation that murders african children and I don't shop there so I'm somehow better than the people who do" My carbon footprint is bigger than yours...and you know what they say about big feet. These are the times that try mens souls...

Now all it is, is a competition between the 3 kids who own the coorporation, to make the most money as possible. [software Engineer] - [Ability Bar Suggestion] - [Gaming Enthusiast]

August 17, 200817 yr If you give all that money to the african families that are starving, eventually the moneys going to run out and they'll starve anyway? Is everyone ignoring my post? The money obviously WON'T JUST BE HANDED OUT, it would go forward to build hospitals, homes, produce medicine, fresh water etc.... *Facepalm*

When he said he refuses to be called British I think it's more in relation to the old British empire of the 1600's - 1900's practically ruling most of the world and pillaging / raping many countries it was in command of for it's resources / welfare. Nothing in relation to food quality or anything
