reny06
My computer randomly shuts down while playing runescape... Ive played on the same computer the last 2 - 4 years and nothing like this has ever happened. I dont play on HD because simply, My graphics card is not good enough. I have tried safe mode and it still shuts down! It started around a week ago just suddenly shut down, I thought... "Maybe just some updates" so I started it up again and guess what... Shuts down again It only happens on Rs. I have tried playing with Firefox, Internet Explorer, SwiftSwitch, SwiftKit and Tiko... It all shuts down for me!!! sloter
Is it just complete turn off or does your OS do a normal shut down? Is this a laptop or a desktop?
Sbrideau
Did you clear the dust in the years you had the computer? If not, it could be a problem of overheating because of the dust blocking the fans, but I don't know enough to be sure, you have to answer sloter's question. That is what i am wondering if his fans are jammed or the the dust in there is so great it is restricting air flow. Especially if it is a laptop if it is set on blanket/pillow or anything that stop airflow could also be causing it.
johnemad1
Runescape make any computer burn. So it's very recommended to check your fans. I'm sure it just shutdowns to prevent any damage to your computer.

Runescape isn't nearly as system intesive as some games, and won't be so demanding on hardware. I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal. Makoto_the_Phoenix
If you don't use HD, then the only real other reason would in fact be overheating. Clean out your entire PC. Wear a facemask while you do it; that thing probably hasn't been opened in a while. I'm asthmatic, so when I dust out my computers I usually put something over my mouth and nose. What were you thinking about?
