Lemeja
I'm pretty much a noob at Manage thy Kingdom, so can anyone point me to a guide or give me some advice at what is profitable anymore. I know most people suggest maples and coal but since maples are so cheap now is there a better combination?
Grizzlycomet
I usually run it with 10 workers on flax, and the other 5 on whatever I need, like mining if I need some coal, trees if I want some bird nests etc. The 1250 flax/day alone covers the expences even if you don't spin it, and if you do spin it, that yields about 165k profit a day with today's prices. Just make sure to have 750k or more in and keep popularity at 100% so they work at maximum effieciency :
wioneo
The maximum possible profit off of the main resources alone is 10 workers on raw fish and 5 on coal, or at least it was the last time that I checked. I use 10 for fish and 5 for maples though, because the free farming xp is nice. starmily
It depends. :? Seriously, all you have to do is check the GE database and see what current prices are on the raw materials you can get from Miscellania and select accordingly. As of today, swordfish are up, so putting 10 on raw (not cooked!) fish and 5 on flax is most profitable. The most profitable items are normally flax, coal, raw fish, and maples. Calculation of results from 10 workers based on today's prices: 545 coal X 179 each = $97,555 1,250 flax X 92 each = $113,750 440 tuna X 119 each = $52,360 + 131 swordfish X 525 each = $68,775 - total = $121,135 892 maples X 44 each = $39,248 Thus, it makes sense to put 10 workers on raw fish and the remainder on flax, as it is the next most profitable resource. That comes to a total of $178,010 (10 fish, 5 flax) on an investment of $75,000, which is a net profit of over $100,000 per day (and this does not count the extra goodies you get like seeds and caskets). The problem is that you can't always make the most money with this combination -- you have to be willing to check current prices to make sure there are no significant changes. For example, when Rocking Out first came out, coal was the most profitable resource. As for maples, I'm going to let someone else comment on them. I do not use them as I prefer the guaranteed return I get with fish, flax, and coal. However, with maples maxed out, you should collect 8 bird's nests each day and the contents of the nests can make maples profitable....I just don't have any data on them. Finally, you also get some miscellaneous items with each resource that I haven't really included in these calcuations. The occasional snapdragon seed that may arrive with the flax can definitely skew the results....so you might also want to take those into consideration. I've been getting 2-3 gems per day if coal is maxed, 4 caskets and maybe a fremmy item if fish is maxed (and the occaional key half) and probably like 2 herb seeds per day on flax. Lemeja
Ok, thanks for the advice guys. Does it matter how long I leave the money in or can I just collect it whenever I'm ready?
Mungo0
Ok, thanks for the advice guys. Does it matter how long I leave the money in or can I just collect it whenever I'm ready? You can leave it as long as you like, but be warned that you still have to keep topping your approval rating up, otherwise your workers won't be as efficient. Oh, and like others have said, keep your coffers above 750k, otherwise they'll be less efficient. Yes... Yes, that's what he said. :D
wioneo
It's better to leave it in longer, because you will get more bonus materials that way. I collect every Sunday, if it matters, and 1275k will last you a week(I think, that or whatever 750+525k is), and you will have to add 525k after you collect to get the most use out of each day. Also, it's best to go mine a bit of coal or chop some logs, etc. every day. I've been getting lazy recently and just topping it off every week...but your choice. Lemeja
Ok, I'm seriously getting confused here..I used a calculator and I couldn't find any way to profit.. I seriously just need like a step-by-step guide on this :wall:
starmily
I don't know of any step-by-step guides...though I'm sure they exist. I'm not too good with the search function. I would think though, that's its impossible not to profit from MTK. You deposit money in Miscellania. I usually start with 1.5 million so I don't have to replenish it every day, but anything over $750,000 is fine. Wait a day (I'm going to base this explanation on one day...but you don't *have* to go every day). Do something to get your favor to 100%. I rake the farming patches because they are right by the door to the castle. Talk to Ghrim(?). Make sure you have your resources alloted in the most profitable way (or at least the way you want them). Right now, I'd go 10 workers on raw fish and 5 workers on flax. Tell him you want to collect your resources. When you do, $75,000 will be deducted from your account in Miscellania to pay the workers. In return, you'll receive 440 raw tuna, 131 raw swordfish, and 625 flax (plus a few miscellaneous items like caskets and seeds), which will deposited directly into your bank. Because you have paid the workers, you will have $75,000 less on deposit at MTK - which you need to replace while you are there. Sell the 440 raw tuna, 131 raw swordfish, and 625 flax on the GE at market price and you should receive about 178,000. This gives you a profit of about 103,000 when you deduct the $75,000 you had to replace at MTK. I really hope that makes sense...I'm not too good at explaining these things, I'm afraid. starclimber
So they take 75k a day? Not necessarily, they take 75k every time you take your raw materials.
Lemeja
Oh, OK I was thinking they took 75k from the coffers every day. That explains it.
green9090
Oh, OK I was thinking they took 75k from the coffers every day. That explains it. For all intents and purposes, yes. They take 75k every day, and give you stuff worth about 175k on the GE. So you make 100k a day.
