Anyone got any PKing tips? My friend challenged me to a friendly duel with no armour. He has 52 atk, 78 str and is pretty much a pure (level 70). We had one match where I used protect from melee and that held me out for a good amount of time and I ended up winning. However, the next match we only used food and regular prayers and he smashed me. I've never really done any PKing at all even when the old wildy was around and really just play FoG for PVP goodness. He's a solid bounty hunter and does this for all of his cash.

What's really got me concerned is how often he managed to hit me. I used curse spells to lower his strength and attack, but he still managed to land hard blows with his scim and a few with his 2H. If my defence is 60 and his attack 52, how did he land so many hits? Is defence really that useless?

So anyway, any tips for duels, bounty hunting, and when the new "wildy" makes its return?

Defence seems to do a lot more at higher levels (90+); until then the armor you wear is what determines how often you get hit. Get 70 defence and become a barrows pure is my two cents if you like meleeing, but a range tank seems to do very well. I was recently beaten by a maxed range tank... At level 109 combat he hit 43-44 on me with diamond bolts :|

Wel you have got 2 options... both are gonna take a bit of hard work...

Option 1.

Get 70 atk

Get 90 - 95 str

Leave the rest as is.

Option 2.

Get 95+ranged

Get 90+def

Leave the rest as is.

I would much rather go with option 2. With 95 ranged you will hit about 16/17 with addy arrows. Sure it doesnt seem as high as the 22's you can hit with 90+ str, but they ranged melle hit ratio is about 3/2 if you ask me. so thats a max 48/51 wit ranged and a max of 44 with melee. Ranged wins. And with 90+ def and rune plate, a melee'er is gonna find it really annoying seeing all the 0's he's gonna hit

Attack isn't as useful as you think it is when it comes to luck in RuneScape.

Wrong

Pking Tip: Don't die.

Get 70 attack and whatever strength level, just make sure you don't go over 100 combat

Ok, so enough about stats, what about actual tactics?

I'm thinking of going range tank and raising my magic really high just for the magic defence bonus (afterall, the Tip.it calculator shows me that I can raise my range and magic to like lvl 90 before they actually increase my level)

How about actual ranging tips? Advice on different bows, arrow types, hit and run tactics, etc.

Is the Lumbridge ring allowed in BH? Because that extra 150 energy could come in handy in wearing down an armored opponent while I use d-hide. Once they have 0 energy and can run no longer, I'll be able to keep my distance and range all day long ^_^
