Old driver?

Featured Replies

Contary to popular belief, Jagex does care :twss: Problem solved by sending tech querry to them <3:

I have a problem using RSHD. Whenever I try to load it it says that I need to update the driver, but there isn't any driver newer than mine

The card is Geforce 8800GTX

The OS is windows xp sp2

The directX is 9.0c

The driver is forceware 175.19

the java is version 6 update 7

The browser is maxthon 2.1 (MS internet explorer based)

Any ideas what to do?

EDIT: here's what features it's missing:

No Multi-Texturing

No Extended Multi-Texturing

Can you check using FireFox, and tell us if the problem persists? :-s

Your OpenGL support is knackered. That card is more than sufficient.

Here's a utility that will show you your OpenGL settings for Windows XP (here's a different utility for those of us with older operating systems).

I have found that if your system supports OpenGL 1.5 or higher, you can run Runescape in FS/HD mode. I got it to run FS/HD on a Windows 98/SE machine with Java 1.4.2_18, an AMD Athlon 900MHz processor, a Geforce2 GTS 64MB card and Forceware 71.84.

If you are running higher than 71.84, then it's something else that is causing your problem. :?

BTW, DirectX has nothing to do with Runescape - it uses OpenGL on all platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux).

Was it a private message they sent you, or was it through the forums?

Could you provide us with the response they gave?

If it's a private message just sum it up, since revealing that information is against Tip.It rules.

This could be useful for anyone else with similar problems.

I won't lock this, since it could help people.

It was a private message, since I sent a private querry ;)

To sum it up they said that this no multi texturing things means that most likely my driver is either incorect or corrupt and advised me to reinstall it.

I would try reinstalling the driver if nothing else works. You do have the latest driver though. I would uninstallthe one now and the reinstall it and see if that fixes it.

You can find more of the driver here if you run an os that wasn't up above.

pryo, are you sure this shouldn't get locked? I mean, the problem was solved 8 hours ago, and people are still coming up with solutions :twss:

EDIT: crazy typo

2qcigdz.png

Still try uninstalling and reinstalling your driver as i said above.

They already did that. That's why the solution has been found, and therefore the thread can possibly be locked safely... ::'
