when i got that message i was reading and i clicked on the site and i saw the site *link removed*

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

then i got a message from my virus scanner so im afraid that its a key logger.. what can i do?

 

 

 

i cant delete or clean it up..

First of all:

 

 

 

JAGEX WILL NEVER EVER, EVER, EVER SEND YOU EMAILS.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

That being said, don't click on them again. EVER.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

First, delete the email.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Run an online virus scanner:

Run any additional virus scanners you have, as well as Adware (by Lavasoft).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you want to go to extremes you can reformat your computer, but until you get a clean sweep of your PC, I suggest you not log into RS.

You most likley didnt get a virus/keylogger/worm (what ever you want to call it) from just reading the email and clicking the link unless you actually downloaded something. These messages can be prevented by not making your email address public on forums and such. What message did you get from your AV program? Did the email have any attachments? And please censor your URL so no one else visits. Oh and don't format your HD. :roll:

what does your virus scanner say it is? Have you tried removing it in safe mode?

i know.. thats what i thought to that reading wouldnt do any damage..

 

 

 

but when i clicked on it it said i had a key loggeR:S

 

 

 

anyway my friend deleted the key logger with mcAfee virus scanner.
