Shoprt story first. Last night, I was bored. I've basicly taken a long break from RS, and still have no interest to start up anytime soon. I started thinking about all the great pictures/sig designers, mostly from here on Tip.it. I thought, "Man. I'd like to be able to make some cool sigs like them". Welp, I bought Photoshop 7.0 and started fooling around with it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I stopped pretty soon. Confused and ticked that it was a lot harder than it at first appeared. Today, I found a small little guide (google searched, and not long AT ALL). Told some basic stuff, but gave no pictures as references or anything.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Needless to say, I tried to make a signature. It isn't very good :( , and it looks quite basic... but it is the best I can do as of now:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

No clue who the guy's head is. I googled searched it :? . Hope you atleast throw soft fruits :shock: .

EDIT: I know, it isn't useable here on Tip.it. I didn't make it to use, I made it to see if I could actually make a signature that wouldn't affect people's upchuck reflex.

its nice for your first attempt maybne try a google search for "blackfuse brushes" and download some of them off deviant art which should come up. I like them alot of course there are lots of other ones and do a little bit of brushing in black and white and then add a colourbalance by going "layer>new ajustment layer>colour balnce and fiddle with the settings till u get something u like then you could try adding a brightness contrast layer by going "layer>new ajustment layer>brightness/contrast" and fiddling with those settings.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

a good place to look for sig making advice is http://www.good-tutorials.com but they tend to go for quantity not quality, my favourite place for stuff like that is http://www.gamerenders.com/forum then go to the tutorials section you can also find nice pics to put in your sigs in the renders section of gamerenders.

Maybe you shouldn't download illegal programs if you don't want to get arrested/sued/banned? Just a suggestion. And next time don't tell people about it, so they have proof when you get served :?

the cloud effect is pretty plain but nice blending with the rendered picture. font can do with some work. but good for a first go.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The text is quite good and i like the whole invertedness feel of it. I also think that the scribble text at the top works quite well.

 

 

 

You also blended in the character really well with the rough fade-in.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

However.... RENDER > CLOUDS!!!!! Big NO NO bad!!!. Ruins the whole piece.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Its not that hard to make an original background. Mess around with some of the brush presets or download a few off the net. Never leave clouds as they are, always do something with them. Would you belive this started life out as render > clouds?

I wasn't suggesting editing your post to cover up your illegal activities. They are making me testify against you in court, sorry but I cut a deal. Good luck with the whole trial thing! (Hopefully I won't be too damaging to your case)

I'd also like to ask how you "render" pictures. What I mean is, so there is nothing outside of the picture (everything is cropped out EXCEPT just the picture). Most pictures I find that I like, haven't been "rendered", and I dunno how to do it.
