armour and weapons have their pros and cons like metals are weak to magic and lower magic attack stats and ranged attack stats well their whould be an amulet that nuetralizes the cons of armour

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

no idea what type of gem or anything like that, suggestions?

You get them by trying to remove the balancing factors of the game and remove your weaknesses while retaining your strengths. When you try to use the UGOB, your character's head explodes and miniguns come out of your computer screen and rip you to pieces with 7.62mm rounds.

Interesting as far as ruining the combat balance JAGeX is aiming for is concerned. Armour needs its weaknesses, otherwise there's no point to having the three classes of armour in the triangle. If you take away the penalty to magic that plate mail has, then obviously everyone's going to go back to using it, because their spellcasting won't be impeded, nor will their magic defence.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To say that it would be interesting without thinking of the unbalancing factor is inane.

Incoherent close-mindedness? I suppose you're talking about the way I decide to think about these ideas of yours as they would be implemented, and what their consequences would be for the game. Idiot.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Even dividing penalties by half is unbalancing. Considering that with the right mix of mis-matched armour, you'd be practically safe against all forms of attack while being able to fight in melee, at range or with magic equally effectively, it's horribly broken.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Want to remove penalties for armour so you can do other things? Take off the armour and wear the right equipment for the job.

well you could neutralize the con affects anyways with an ammy of defence so you lose your arguement to prexisting items on the defence part and i just dont think you should practically be forced to use melee attacks with a full helm on (even though I never use one)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

and anouther thing this is suggestion and discussion board and yet i have found no suggestions or even cunstructive critisism just meerly stating "no that will never work" to every idea on the board in the rudest way possible

We are discussing the subject. If you fail to see that, then I understand why you think I'm being negative in every way. Your ideas are not particularly well thought-out.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now, your argument here is that the amulet of defence neutralises the penalties of armour. It doesn't. It shaves off a little (10 points) but that's about it. It doesn't reduce attack penalties or weight. It's also perfectly balanced since it adds to all forms of defence equally instead of removing penalties, and the addition is in the form of an integer rather than a percentage. Add to that the fact that it adds practically no defence value whatsoever and you have a balanced item. 10 points is well and good until you start fighting things that could actually be a threat.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You can't expect me to agree with all your ideas because frankly, they're not very well thought-out.

i'm with zorno 100%. To put it plain and simple, these amulets would not work. They practically make the three clases pointless. (Why do I feel as if I am stated the previously said :roll: )

Look, Crim_nimora, apparently you're still living in that little world where you believe everything needs to be put in YOUR favour...but quite simply, Jagex made these certain penalties and these certain pieces of armor for a REASON. Without weaknesses, there would be absolutely no point in having the Combat Triangle. People would go back to using Melee armor, as Zonorhc said, because it would not only have the highest defense bonuses in the game, but it also would not be weak to magical attacks. Can anyone say unstoppable? I can.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Listen kid, Zonorhc is far more intelligent, witty, and humorous than you are. He/She is knowledgable of what he/she is talking about, and you don't even know how to spell a word the same way more than once. By adding this so called "Neutralizing Amulet" into the game, there would be almost no need for rangers or mages...melee would dominate all...which would NOT be a good thing.

as uhh fun as that sounds, i think that they are right, dstroying the natural balance of the game would result in the triangle being completely broken, cuz if a fully armored warrior could kill a wizard, then the archer could kill the warrior and the mage could easily kill the archer, its like playing rock paper scissors backwards

Crim, i agree with bubsa, i mean, its a dumb idea, and your fighting with a genious about it, your going to lose, and jagex will never enstate a gem that powerful, and if they did it would be uber rare and you would have to find like 20 pieces of the special gem just to find it, and the pieces were random, you couldnt just go to tip.it (not saying that its bad to go here) and find out how to get them easy, also it you would need a combat level of like 120 to use it, and your crafting level would have to be 99 to put the stones together and then you would have to be prayer level 99 to use this awesome gem, but jagex wouldnt put something into the game even that powerful so you would be able to decide what -stat you want to be leveled, whether it be attack or defence is up to you, but heres the downside, the unbalancing only lasts for 20 in game minutes, since there are 20 pieces, and each gives you a minute, no one would want to spend their preciouse time to get a negative 12 magic up to 0 magic, its just stupid my friend, no one would want it, and the people that would make the gems, the would charge like 30mil for it, so the whole thing would die :roll:
