June 20, 200521 yr okay ive been having trouble with this for a while. when someone sends me a pic that i have to open from a file like on msn....i click on it and some message comes up saying its not compatible for runnin in ms dos. this blows me away seeing as im not runnin on dos...lol....can someone plese help??
June 20, 200521 yr From the error message, it appears that windows is trying to run the picture files as if they were executables. Give some more info, such as: what hapens when you try to open files that you downloaded from the web? try downloading a pic from tipit like my sig or the logo and then try to open it. It's possible that the files people are sending you are corrupted or coming through with incorrect extensions. And for the basic question. You know the people sending the files, right?
June 20, 200521 yr Does this happen ALL the time or just occasionally? It sounds like perhaps people are trying to send you a keylogger infected image but i could be wrong. What operating system are you on? Scan with Ad-aware and Spybot S&D then post a HijackThis log please. June 21, 200521 yr Are you sure it wasn't picture.jpg[Caution: ExecutableFile]? The default setting hides the extensions so you just see picture.jpg. The GDI+ jpeg security hole has been patched LONG time ago so it shouldn't work anymore. Jagex posted in on their "news" really late.
