Zibl
Well, after seeing a couple "grunge" sigs, I figured I would attempt to make one myself. I didn't fool much with the coloring or anything, I just focused solely on making i look grunge. Please. CC only (if possible). I know it is quite basic, and probably isn't very good. I don't need to know those 2 very obvious facts. What would be helpful, is some advice/good techniqes and ways I can make it better. gandorf_101
ok well 1stly grunge sigs needs to ber grungy... (its amazing i kno... ) u will need to start of by adding more colors.. because black and gray just wont do... ad some browns, tans, and all ugly colors and heck even some filthy reds if its needed... then after u done all that jaz... u will need to use diffrent brushes to make it grungy and dirty, then just overlap all these things and even if u like get pics of the internet in like google search by typing somthing randomly grungy like.. 'crate' then find somthing grungy and street looking, then alter the colors of that pic until they match ut grungy color scheme, then play around with it and add stuff like scarly looking letters or notes, in dark colors and overlap ect... i guess that how u do it anyway... thats how i did mine and i think it turned out ok... (By The WAY! i have only ever done one grunge ever.. and this is it.. but with practise i could be better :P so dont laugh lol)
Boiller
This is like my 4th try, I'm not very good with this kind of stuff, but after reading some tuts and trying some stuff I came up with this grunge: 1 brushe per layer, messing with bleding modes Also got this abstract one: of course they aren't for this forum. Edit: my sig bg is also grungy (it was my first grunge sig)
Nadril
Grunge sigs in my opinion are over done. But , none-the-less, I'm going to say what I think grunge realy is. Alot of the sigs you see around that are "grunge" sigs are realy just an abstract made to look grungy and such. However, in my opinion, grunge sigs are more into the photomanipulation route, and usualy have dark themes in them (such as photomaniping a person to be a zombie, bad example i know) Realy for a start on this, all it is is a bunch of random brushes splashed onto a canavas. It's nothing special to look at, and even if you added color, it would still be very... mweh. The thing i see with a lot of grunge sigs are the creator of it needs to fill it with a googled image to make it look decent, or mostly to take up space. the grunge we see is usualy very flat, so of course you need something with it. if you want to make a "true" grunge sig (at least in my opinion) than thats something totaly different. However, a few tips for this: - Color. Obviously. - Give it depth, without adding a googled picture on it. This can be done by adding a nice abstract render into it, or if your a talented brusher you can give it depth as well. - Boarder. Just another "duh" thing. - When you do the text, make sure it fits into the piece. I.E you don't want it standing out. The text usualy isn't the focus of the piece. - Have a focus point. I know, I know its a grunge sig. Sort of random. but a focus point will help all the better. ~Nadril
Zibl
Thanks oh so very much everyone. So far, the Media Discussion board seems like something very helpful, rather than "oh meh gwad, you liek, suk@ cigz! that aint grunge, thatz crep!". I'll talk information I recive from everyone, and actually use it. Thx heaps. P.S - I wasn't sure oif it was really that gunge or not. Basicly, it is just a grunge preset (is that the word?), but I figured I'd ask for some help before I kept going.
