I have to say PestPatrol is pretty good at stopping trojans..gotta pay for it though. It has active scanning and it's always being updated.

Is it a one time pay? By the way, I'm look for a one time payment.

Common Sense 5.0 is your best defense. I've been running it for as long as I can remember, and I've never gotten one.

Can you buy it in the store or do you have to buy it online?

Well here goes my long explanation to help protect from keyloggers. Isn't 100% proof but will help a lot when protecting your computer.

1. OS - If using Windows then always keep your computer up to date.

2. Firewall - Firewalls are important to keep hackers getting in and stopping programs using the internet without your permission. Zonealarm and SyGate are the top free versions.

3. Spyware protection - In this case more is better then less. I personally use 3 different programs for this.

Lavasoft Ad-Adware - Good for detecting all small and large spyware through searching every file and registry.

SpyBot Search and Destroy - Good for detecting a few things that Ad-Aware misses.

SpyWare Blaster - Blocks a lot of spyware and helps to stop the spyware getting to your computer in the first place.

4. Anti-Virus protection - Norton Anti-Virus is a top choice but if you want a free version then AVG Anti-Virus is good too.

5. Common Sense - Don't accept any files from an untrusted source and don't download any files from untrusted sites.

Finally here is a few links to help you out;

ZoneAlarm - http://www.zonealarm.com

SyGate - http://www.sygate.com

AVG - http://www.grisoft.com

LavaSoft Ad-Aware - http://www.Lavasoft.de

SpyBot Search and Destroy - http://security.kolla.de/

SpyWare Blaster - http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

In conclusion, run anti-virus check once a week and spyware checks twice a week. This should help to protect your PC and hopefully avoid keyloggers.

Well, I already have a Anti-Virus, spyware scanner, and firewall. I just thought there would be a program that specilizes in keeping keyloggers from entering your computer, guess not.

If its a particularly nasty and illegal keylogger then its likely that your Anti Virus (if its good and updated) will catch it before it saves onto your computer and gets a chance to run but there really isnt a specific program to stop keyloggers installing. Firewalls can stop it from "phoning home" but you need to get your security settings high and make sure you patch your pc to stop it actually self installing through any vulnerabilities in your OS or Browser.

Should I buy this to stop spyware from entering?

http://www.lavasoft.de/ad-aware/persona ... rade.shtml

If you are paranoid about getting spyware on your system then sure buy it. But I would say Ad-aware SE is sufficient itself. Just scan with it every couple of days along with the other programs Michaelwest suggested and you should be fine.

Virus: A malicious program that can spread automatically.

Trojan: A malicious program that is disguised as legitimate and can not spread automatically. Relies on user's stupidity.

Spyware: NEVER gets installed on your computer without your knowledge (unless someone other installs it). If it installs without user's knowledge, it is a Trojan horse. Advertising programs are usually called spyware.

Keyloggers that are sent by someone who wants to steal your PW are Trojans.
