GIMP Guides please (Move thread to gallery please)

I have had Gimp on my computer for so long time, yet i have problems with understanding it's functions. So does anyone know of a Guide that illustrates and explains well how to use it?

 

 

 

I is a plus if the guide has easy understandable language with not so complicated vocabulary.

In gallery is where you going ot get the help you need for this. Just letting you. Wouldn't surprise me if this topic dies fast here.

Thing is, there's a sticky for questions on the gallery, so this would be basically moved there and then locked. :|

To OP, try http://www.gimptalk.com. There are some good tutorials there for both learning the GIMP, and getting started with some simple art.
