Princess Viola Posted September 18, 2008 Share Posted September 18, 2008 Hallo, I'm currently working on a TCG. I haven't really thought of a name yet... But, I have the different card types! The card types are: Monster, Spell, Field, Trap, and Equip. All these types exept for Field are furthur put into sub-classes. Certain Monster cards need you to either tribute some of your Hitpoints (You start with 20000, you lose when it hits 0) or some cards from the deck, hand or field. (Your side only). Traps can be used to counter spells, monsters, or traps. Traps can also be used to destroy cards. Spell cards normally will have effects that are good for you. Field cards will affect the playing area, it will cause an effect or increase a monster's power. You may only have one field card on the field at a time. Equip cards can be equiped to monsters to increase their power or a spell to either give it a new effect or make it a monster. Special Cards: Combo-Cards- Cards that can only be played by tributing a combination of spell/monster/trap cards. Errdoth Posted September 18, 2008 Share Posted September 18, 2008 Heh, a friend and I made a TCG last year because people at my school were obsessed with them (it was strange) It was called Street Biker Mayhem: you were in a biker gang, and most of the players (Street Biker Freddy, Bubba, Big Al (you're mob boss :P ), etc..) had machine guns on their vehicles. (There was even a shark [With a machine gun (nested parenthesis lol)]) Oh, did I mention the power level of each monster was measured in ducks? It was [bleep]ing brilliant to sit down at a table with people playing MTG or whatever and pull out your SBM deck and act all dramatic as you laid a shark with a mounted machine gun onto the playing field. And after rereading the OP I have to agree with you, this seems way too close to yugioh for any major card company to take seriously enough to market. If you're lucky you'll get a local pharmacy or dollar store to sell some of your cards, and maybe have your friends buy a couple really cool looking ones for a buck.
