Mage Pure Training

Hi all. I just need to know a decent f2p monster to train my mage pure on. I'm at level 22 at the moment, but losing too much money using jsut cows, and I can 1-hit them with air blast. However, I don't want to make money with skills too much, I want to make money with the drops. So, could you please suggest some f2p monsters that:

 

 

 

- Have drops that are worth more than, say, a chaos rune? (not including the bones, I need them for prayer)

 

- Can be safespotted? (Obviously I only have 1 def)

 

- Are non-aggressive (not really needed, but I don't wanna be ko'd when I'm getting the drops!)

 

- Close-ish to a bank

 

- And are fun to kill!

Cows hides are over 100 ea, beef is worth something too. Usually takes 2 hits with a bolt spell to kill a cow so you'll regain over half of what you spend. Only other f2p monster I can think of with good drops is ankous, but the safespot is limited and you can't stay there with 1 def. The best place to kill cows if you choose to is north of lumbridge, neer the gnome copters, because its right beside the bank deposit. Not particularily fun to kill though. Another cheap meathod is cursing the zammy monk in varrock but you won't get hp and prayer xp (and is a lot more booring). Also consider fist of guthix.

Use wind bolts on cows, they are only 8 hp

 

 

 

You can always play fog and train mage there.

I'm there at gnomecopters training now. Could pick up the beef as well I suppose, not sure how well it would sell though. I just want my money to last a long way - my main is a skiller and the whole reason I made this pure was to get away from doing them.

In most spots theres maybe one other hill giant near you that can attack you, and when you loot, it should only get in one hit on you.

yes there is a safe spot at ankous, i train there alot with my pure. its in the southwest room with ankous and skelitons near the door. the only thing u need to watch out for is when ur getting a drop. :thumbsup: i crumbled undead and it was good xp, and i also made some money back

I love that room. Whenever i get bored of clicking I just start ranging :P

 

 

 

Cowhides not a good idea. If you want good xp that you can make money in, you'll find yourself restricted to fire strike (2 airs, 3 fires, 1 mind), costing about 45gp per cast. Chaos spell casts will cost minimum 100gp.
