Put An End To Bumping

Featured Replies

Maybe it's just me, but I get tired of seeing topics that haven't been posted in for over a week suddenly job to the top of the first page. And when I go to see what's new, all I find is "Bump".

No. That's just stupid. I think something needs to be done about people bumping their topics to the top of the first page for no apparent reason. We have a search feature so if somebody decides they have something to contribute to the thread they can run a quick search and find the appropriate place to post. We don't need the same topics being renewed week after week.

I agree 100%!

I also hate seeing a topic made about something then it gets to the bottom of the page, then another person makes a topic about the same hing that was just answered.

Bumping can be necessary, but it is otherwise frowned upon. There is no way to stop it, if you include all options that are reasonable. For example, a warn or ban for a bump is just ridiculous.

As has been said before, if it doesn't contribute to the thread, the thread in question is locked.

If someone persistently bumps topics without good reason, they will be warned. If it does continue and they are blatantly disregarding a moderator's wishes, then I'd have no problem with a ban for a few days.

I think the current stance on bumping is fine. It's not like we have a horde of ancient topics being bumped up from the depths of the latter pages.

Pointless bumping is already against the rules. If you see it, you can report it ;) (except in designated areas like Clan Recruitment, in which case it must be done in moderation)

As tripsis said we don't like pointless bumping. Bumping an older thread with decent/valuable discussion is generally allowed however.

I'm with the Mods/Admins on this one... <*goes hunting for anything breaking this forum rule*>

(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... Sometimes even to themself.)

I haven't seen people that have been bumping for a while. If you just cross the path of these bumpers, they'll just take a little more time in making a better excuse for bringing their thread up :P
