October 16, 200817 yr Alright, I'm just doing some calculations here, and there's some questions that came up and are vital to getting close to what I'm aiming for. Fletching 1. I've heard stringing is a lot faster than making (U)'s, true? 2. How much faster is it? (whether it be stringing being faster, or the carving) 3. For the faster method, about how many logs/bows per hour can you do? 4. Do people still trade supplies for products? Answers so far: 1. Yes; 2. Possibly 30k/hr; 3. (actually timed myself, about 1400, I get distracted easily); 4. Not really; REC: fletch ruby tips, add to addy bolts Hunter 1. From 70, what are the xp/hr rates of catching Chins? (i.e. 250/hr at 70; 275/hr at 80, etc; whatever it may be) 2. How's competition for these bad boys? 3. Would you recommend going to red chins at 70, or 80, maybe even 63? I'd be doing red sallys until then. Answers so far: 1. Not worth it; 2. Still pretty bad; 3. 80 Fishing 1. Same as Hunter, from 72, what are the xp/rates of catching Monks? (i.e. 250/hr at 70 (just go to 70 instead of 72); 275/hr at 80, etc; whatever it may be) Answers so far: 1. About 30k/hr? REC: Barbarian Fishing Cooking 1. About how many pieces of food can you cook in an hour using the Rogue's Den fire? Answers so far: 1. About 1400-1600 Thanks! ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~
October 16, 200817 yr Fletching 1) Yes. 2) Can't give exact speed, but it is faster if you one-click bank and don't lose concentration. 3) Not sure on this, 1.5-2k an hour I think. 4) Not really. Just buy (u) and strings, sell on exchange and make a profit. Retired Crew Member | Retired RuneScape Player

October 16, 200817 yr for fletching.... even though stinging is faster, i suggest cutting and stringing just so u dont lose ur mind... but hey if u can just string go for it. hunter... im not sure on exp anymore but i hear like 160k an hour at 70-80. competition still crazy i believe. fishing.. 30k an hour an monks. i think its 4 hours for 1k monks. hope i could help Quest cape since Jan. 30th, '08
October 16, 200817 yr Yeah, stringing is so much faster, but doing 1k logs and 1k strings keeps your sanity. Retired Crew Member | Retired RuneScape Player

October 17, 200817 yr Not sure how much slower logs are, but it is faster to string. Retired Crew Member | Retired RuneScape Player
October 17, 200817 yr Feathering addy bolts and cutting rubies -> tips, then tipping (not enchanting) is pure xp and pure cash. :) And if you want to train cooking, do some investigating into potatoes, pizzas, etc. I dont need a siggy no moar.
October 17, 200817 yr Author Feathering addy bolts and cutting rubies -> tips, then tipping (not enchanting) is pure xp and pure cash. :) And if you want to train cooking, do some investigating into potatoes, pizzas, etc. Ok, I'll look into putting ruby tips on addy bolts, and then the potatoes and pizzas. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~
October 17, 200817 yr Didn't think of ever adding gems to bolts for the profit. Might be better, definitely easier on the arm movements. Retired Crew Member | Retired RuneScape Player
October 18, 200817 yr Bolded. Alright, I'm just doing some calculations here, and there's some questions that came up and are vital to getting close to what I'm aiming for. Fletching 1. I've heard stringing is a lot faster than making (U)'s, true? It SEEMS a lot faster when I'm fletching, and people have told me it is up to 30k/hour faster than cutting, but I don't have my own numbers to back me up. 2. How much faster is it? (whether it be stringing being faster, or the carving) 3. For the faster method, about how many logs/bows per hour can you do? 4. Do people still trade supplies for products? Check the "Fletching Guild", they might still. But I doubt it tbh. Hunter 1. From 70, what are the xp/hr rates of catching Chins? (i.e. 250/hr at 70; 275/hr at 80, etc; whatever it may be) I tried it at 68 and it was dead slow. In like 30 minutes I caught like 76 or something like that. I would recommend red salamanders. 2. How's competition for these bad boys? If you do it the conventional way, very high. But if you get 1 spawn to yourself, surround it with traps, and kill the chincompa when it wanders away, you'll get much higher xp rates. 3. Would you recommend going to red chins at 70, or 80, maybe even 63? I'd be doing red sallys until then. I would say no at 70. I personally don't have 80 hunter, so I can't vouch for that. However, most guides I've read recommend 80 as the breaking point. Fishing 1. Same as Hunter, from 72, what are the xp/rates of catching Monks? (i.e. 250/hr at 70 (just go to 70 instead of 72); 275/hr at 80, etc; whatever it may be) Sorry, I don't catch monks. But if you are looking for efficiency, Barbarian Fishing is best, and then using the extra time to make the money you could've made on monks. You'd most likely make more money this way. Cooking 1. About how many pieces of food can you cook in an hour using the Rogue's Den fire? In f2p, at Edge bank (approx same distance) and lighting my own fires (2 less invent spots), I could get 1400-1600 easily. Thanks! ~It's Super Effective! October 18, 200817 yr Zaaps was a bad F2P cook  For fletching you still get cash if you feather the bolts too. (remember to fletch tips from the gem itself also) I dont need a siggy no moar.
October 18, 200817 yr Zaaps was a bad F2P cook  What's that supposed to mean? lol. Edit on the cooking. It's been literally almost 2 years or so since I got that level. So the numbers might be wrong. I DEFINITELY know it's above 1.2k, but below 1.8k. ~It's Super Effective! October 18, 200817 yr It means, WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU COOK ON A FIRE? And if you were to cook on a fire, why not in a better spot, like al kharid. Al Kharid is skiller-land of F2P. :) I dont need a siggy no moar.
October 18, 200817 yr It means, WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU COOK ON A FIRE? And if you were to cook on a fire, why not in a better spot, like al kharid. Al Kharid is skiller-land of F2P. :) Lol, well actually I figured out that at the time, lighting a fire and cooking was the fastest xp possible for cooking in f2p. The bank is closest to outdoors and it is superior to ranges or perm fires, at least in f2p. Plus at the time, if you logged into w1, 3 or 4 and cooked there you would have a lot of company. ~It's Super Effective! October 18, 200817 yr Author Read the Very end for the sum of this... Alright, question on the ruby tipped bolts thing, I buy adamant bolts (unf) (~205), feathers (~4), and rubies (~1,211). Then I attach the feathers to the bolts, and then the tips to the bolts, correct? I'd need to make about 887,973 of those. If I can make 12 tips from each ruby, that's 2,460gp per ruby, 1,211 for a ruby, and 4 for a feather, which comes to ~3,671. Now, each ruby bolt sells for about 313gp, and 12 of those = 3,756. That's a profit of about 85gp per bolt. That would be equal to 75,477,705gp profit. On the flip side, if I don't attach any feathers, I need to attach 1,874,610 ruby tips to the bolts. Now, each adamant bolt = 200, and the gems stay the same. So for about 12 bolts, that's 2,400 per gem, and each gem is 1,211. So that's about 3611, and each still sells for 3,756. That's 145 profit per bolt. That'd equal 271,818,450. I put in an order for rubies at median price, got them instantly. I put in for some adamant bolts (unf), and still didn't get them. If I paid maximum price, that's 216 per bolt, and end up losing 47 per bolt, which sums up to a pretty big loss that I'm not willing to lose for fletching. I put in for adamant bolts and got them instantly at median price, so no attaching feathers. I counted it to attach 10 bolts to 10 tips every second, and at 1,874,610, that's 187,461 seconds, 3124.35 minutes, and lastly, 52.0725 hours. So that's about 53 (I round up, no matter what) for 99 fletching (from 75) and 271,818,450. Something is VERY off with these numbers and I don't know what. I didn't feel like editing my calculations, so I'll just do this: I just put in some ruby bolts at median price (313) and no instant sell, if I put them in at minimum (297), that's the same as if I bought unfinished bolts at max, a price I'm not willing to lose for fletching. So it looks like all these calculations kind of went for nothing, since the only way to sell these, I'd be making a huuuge loss. Did I do something wrong? Or is it just not worth it to do it this method? I wouldn't care if i lost some money on this, but not that big (47 loss per bolt * 1,874,610 bolts = 88,106,670). So looking at these, how on earth do you make pure money with this method? I've only come up with a huuuge loss unless I can buy and sell at median price, which you can't really do in an efficient time period. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~
