September 9, 201213 yr I've seen catches that would make that one seem rather average. Nothing too special really. And before anyone asks how i can say that. Sure, her had to run a bit, catch the ball over his back with one hand. All of that is actually not really that hard. The hardest part would be holding on to the ball during the fall. So i'll give him props for managing that. But still, the catch was nothing too special. He had such a long time to react and get himself into position.Most (jumping/diving) slip/point catches are a lot more impressive simply because of the little time you have to react. It isn't any more. September 10, 201213 yr The one by Paul Collingwood is probably one of the better ones. I've seen a few by him when he plays slip which are just amazing. And those are the types of catches i'm talking about.I'm not really impressed by someone that has to run a few yards and pull of a body length dive to catch the ball. I'm much more impressed by someone that has half a second to react while jumping/stretching/diving. Ponting/Rhodes/de Villiers kind of catches.
