monk/fly fishing to 99 or w/e..dont bother with sharks

And this is comming from someone with nowhere close to 76 fishing.

OT:

Start fishing sharks at 85 and beyond, It's very good since it's kind of AFK. Spots dont much as much as Monk spots do and, its almost more cash than monks now. Well, in fact. it is. :?

Barbarian Fly Fishing is far superior to Shilo, if that's what you intend to do.

You'll not only get faster fishing xp, but 12 hours worth of agility xp, 12 hours worth of str xp, and about 9 hours worth of cooking xp. And in the extra time you save in fishing alone, you can make all the money you could've gotten at Shilo by your best money-making method.

There is no level where sharks suddenly "start getting fast." They are slow at EVERY level, and they don't significantly speed up at any level. Not 80, not 85, not 90, and not 96. The only time they ever change any more than the marginal speed boost of any level-up is when you can start catching them barehanded, and even then all that you get strength exp and fewer randoms. The catch rate is the same as regular harpooning.

Despite their recent rise in price, sharks are not efficient to fish at any level, and fly fishing isn't efficient either. (Zaaps is correct about heavy rod fishing.)

well ive been doing barby pole fishing and it doesnt seem faster then shilo. is it just me?

It's definitely faster, at least once you can catch leaping sturgeon. Either you're doing it wrong, or it's all in your head. :ugeek:

yah im 82 fish. must be in my head.

I'm 70 fishing and I can tell there's a difference between the two.

Are you dropping the offcuts? They don't really serve much purpose, since the roe and caviar covers the bait, even if they don't fill up an inventory.

Also, use an ibis/g lobby if you can.

Like everyone else already said, sharks are slow at all levels. ATM though sharks are worth great cash and its such a sweet way to afk cash and exp atm. If you have high level fishing and some reading to do i recommend sharks.
