Generally, you want to stay clear of inverted renders, they look terrible and you can spot them a mile off.

 

 

 

Plus inverted backgrounds always look dodgy, mainly because the natural shadows of the pre-interted background are now lighter, so it throws the whole illusion of depth out the window.

^ Agreed. Inverted stuff usually looks terrible.

 

 

 

So the first version is better here, although there are still some things to improve on.

 

Colours: they're quite boring, try to add another colour to the signature (like light blue).

 

The background: again, not very interesting. The fractals aren't too bad here, but it's always hard not to make them look slapped on. I wouldn't recommend using them for an entire background.

 

Blending: there is some of it here, but you blended the cape so much that it almost looks like it's part of the background, which makes the girl stand out a lot.

A couple of fractals on a white background, slap a render and text on it and you have this.

 

 

 

Use tutorials to learn the bacics (s?).

I rippled the back ground, re-made the dark one with a new gradient, darkened text with an effect, added a blend strip to the cape and some more things.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bit bland IMO, the only renders you should invert are wireframe C4Ds to make the lines white.
