What to train on...?

Featured Replies

I'm trying to get my melee stats into the 80's and make a bit of cash, but at a loss of what to train on.

Before people say 'slayer', I do have the equipment for it, but would rather do some other training before I get back to it, so no slaying. I don't want something with the fastest exp, or the best drops, but am looking for something that will give me a good mix of both and not be boring to fight for a while. I'll try to upload a picture of my (type 33 if you read this post) equipment that I use for fighting. But yeah, decent drops, decent exp, and not boring.

Although I'm not someone to recommend monsters at my level, I tend to like Ankous. There crowded alot most the time, but when you get a world when you can fight one straight after you kill, you can get decent xp and decent drops, and they don't really get boring. I really can't think of a monster that has decent xp + drops and doesn't get boring, but I'm sure you've tried Ankou's, nothing special, but worth another try huH?

You do not want to know how many times I go there. With or without Guthans.

For me it easily gets boring, sadly. :wall:

Try and scrolling through the playermade guides.. There's some good ones in there.

Dragon drops: 82 (2 claws)

Dagannoth kings drops: 73

Barrows item count: 51

GWD drops: 54 (5 hilts: 1x bandos, 3x saradomin, 1x zamorak)

Whips: 4

Sigils: 1x spectral (FFA), 1x arcane (FFA)

If you have the slayer level just train on basilisks, they are 300 xp each, have decent drops and drop charms. I did 85-99 strength there and made about 15m off the drops. Just so you know, if i could go back in time i would max strength with slayer, im kicking myself now.

One of my favorites!

The cockroaches in player stronghold of safety are good as well, dropping dragon items occasionally. Also, Ankous are exhausting, so you can break with green dragons (since you're training melee only).

I'm doing cockroaches just now (bored though). And I know they drop dragon items, but 'occasionally is an overstatement, I've killed 5,000+ with no dragon drops. :wall:
