rangeor
So basically I'm going to be recording and then selling a song on iTunes, but I can't pick a song. I've written about 8 songs, and finally, after 3 months, I have two songs left that are worthy of being sold on iTunes, but I can't decide which one to sell! So I decided I would ask you to help me decide! I've created a very rough outline of both of the songs. Keep in mind that these are all computer-generated and since I suck horribly at programming drums, the drums in the final recording will be MUCH more complex. Here is the first one, Artic Waters: The drums in this one will still stay relatively simple but not as simple as this. I've also gone back and taken out a few measures; some repeats were unnecessary. The video was made prior to the measure cuts. Here is the second one, though it doesn't have a name yet: I didn't bother putting drums in this one because i'd just end up butchering them. What my drummer does in this song is WAY too complex for me to even begin to program so I decided to just leave it out completely on this one. So, please tell me which song you liked most! And, if there are any adjustments you would make to one of the songs, please tell me! Thanks!
Ragen
The second one by far. The first seemed a bit too simple and without vocals/ awesome drums there just wasn't enough going on. Is the recording going to be done properly? As in with real guitar's, bass and drums? Because I doubt people would pay any money for something programmed in that manner, especially if there is no vocals. Thanks Venomai for this super sig and Kwimbob for the awesome avatar! Cyco_Reborn
The second one. The first one lacked content and the tempo nearly put be to sleep. The second one had a pleasant galloping pace though. My Last.FmLeekSpinner!!!Random Furry Dance!!!Proud to hate life, since not too long ago!!! rangeor
Well, I posted this on another forum and everyone there pretty much said the second one too. So yesterday at practice me and my drummer (bassist wasn't there, as usual) did a rough recording of the song. Any thoughts or opinions?
Nadril
I won't lie, but that is a really bad recording.

Nadril
No, what I meant is musically it's bad. Not the recording it's self. (I'm used to listening to low quality recorded stuff)
Jernlov
I wonder if they just met up and did it without any prior practice. Musicianship is average, nothing special. It needs to be much tighter and better rehearsed before you even think about selling it. It feels like you're cutting notes short in places, so be sure to hold them out for their full value. Your drummer seems to be not keeping time too well, so maybe you both need to get together and rehearse the piece section-by-section until it all comes together as neatly and as tightly as you can get it to be. It's bad, but there's significant room for improvement. Steam | Soup | Last.fm

And this was just one take; on the final recording we'll record our own parts numerous times to get it perfect.
