    Rockbox

I figured this was a better place for this than any other forum, so... Any of you have experience with Rockbox? I'm considering installing it on my iPod, but would like to get opinions from others before I do.
  2. I'm not sure I'll find much help here, but I figured I'd give it a try: I listen to a lot of Elliott Brood (which, for those of you who have never listed to them, is a very, very good band. I highly their music out), but have not ventured further than them into the genre of alt-country. I'm wondering if any more initiated TIFers could recommend some good artists from the genre, preferably in the same vein as Elliott Brood.

How could I forget to mention Dalek? Definitely worth checking out at least once.
  4. Big D's really the only band that jumped out at me. No interest in going, though. Bonnaroo, though, is a whole 'nother story.
  5. A good list -- I'm particularly happy to see that another TIFer is a fan of Yeasayer. :D

    Punk!

Out of Step, IIRC. It's also on the Complete Discography album.
  7. Stars of the Lid cannot be recommended enough to anyone at all who wants to dive into ambient music. In particular, I suggest their album Stars of the Lid and Their Refinement of Decline.

[yt]gYIZknR30w0[/yt] How do you do? I don't think that we've met. My name is Ian, and I'm from Minor Threat!

    DUBSTEP.

Distance, Burial, and Boxcutter are all great places to start.
  10. Same, unfortunately. I'd really like to be able to mess around on my RSC character--after spending... two and a half years of my life on it, I miss the old game. :/
  11. The funniest thing about fatigue (to me) was always how quickly the cheaters got around it. Totally ineffective, and just a pain in the [wagon] for players.

    DUBSTEP.

I was wondering if any TIFers were fans of the dubstep genre? I quite like it, myself, and my interest in it has been slowly growing for some time. [yt]jhebbWDpciU[/yt] [yt]bmW_r3XK2HA[/yt] A few good songs by notable dubstep artists.

  14. I haven't found him amusing since I was thirteen. But, y'know, whatever floats your boat.
  15. I heartily suggest Bailter Space's album Vortura to any and all shoegaze fans.

Don't draw too many conclusions about Wu-Tang from 8 Diagrams. Instead, listen to debut, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), which remains to this day one of the greatest works in hip-hop. GZA's (of Wu-Tang fame) Liquid Swords is another phenomenal album.

    Wu-Tang was a disappointment? :( A Tribe Called Quest was a disappointment!?
  18. Brain damage? Please. Respiratory damage can be mitigated by the use of vaporizers, and there have been no conclusive links between marijuana and cancer--in fact, many believe that tetrahydrocannabinol actually has anticarcinogenic properties.
  19. Back in my day, we were happy to get an update every four weeks. God, I feel old. rofl nice when was "your day"? Let me put it to you this way: when Jagex was dropping christmas crackers throughout RuneScape, and players everywhere were getting party hats, I was fishing for lobsters, oblivious to it all, and thinking the whole thing was rather silly. :wall:
