Things you should wear while Mining:

 

 

 

Amulet of Glory (charged) - Increases your chances of getting gems while mining.

 

 

 

Varrock Level 3 Armor - Chance of mining 2 ores at once

 

 

 

Spotted/Spottier Capes - reduces your weight so you can run more with your heavy ore

 

 

 

Boots of Lightness - reduces your weight

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This kind of thing.. What else should I be wearing while I mine? (Pickaxe is obviously my weapon slot)

 

 

 

What about other skills?

If you enjoy Barbarian Assault, you can get the Penance Gloves to reduce your weight some as well.

There are also a lot of familiars that give mining boosts, invisible/visible. Or you can get a familiar that forages ores.
