[hide=Walkthrough Hide/Show]1. Talk to Maggie and ask if you can help her. She will give you a broomstick which you have to get enchanted by three witches.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Go south to Rimmington and talk to Hetty. She will need a Newt for the ointment that is used to enchant your broomstick.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Go down the trapdoor outside of Hetty's house. Talk to Gus and he will explain that all the labels on the crates are wrong. One crate contains newts, one contains toads, and the last one contains a mixture of newts and toads. Agree to help Gus.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. As Gus has told you, you only need to know the contents of one of the crates to find out the others. Choose the crate that is labeled with both toads and newts and pull out a creature from it. You will then know what is inside that particular crate, so use the correct label with it. The other two crates are just the label that isn't currently on the crate.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

5. After correctly labeling everything, take a newt from the newt only crate and go back up to speak to Hetty. Use the broom ointment on the broomstick and then head east to Port Sarim.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

6. Go to the Runes shop in Port Sarim and talk to Betty. She'll need her wand before being able to enchant your broomstick.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

7. Go down the trapdoor outside of Betty's shop. Talk to Lottie and tell her you need to retrieve Betty's wand. She will explain that the chest that contains the wand is magically sealed, and will not open until order has been restored to Betty's menagerie.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

8. Lottie will explain the situation to you. Things to remember are:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

- You can only carry one creature at a time

 

 

 

- You can't carry a creature through the door of a chamber which contains another creature

 

 

 

- The holding pen is a place to put a creature so that you can organize the other ones

 

 

 

- The bat and the snail are already in the right place.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After Lottie finishes explaining, she will give you a Magic slate to use as reference.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

9. The correct order to move the the animals is:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

a) Take the Blackbird from the Blackbird pen and move it into the Holding pen

 

 

 

B) Take the Rat from the Spider pen and move it into the Blackbird pen

 

 

 

c) Take the Spider from the Lizard pen and move it into the Spider pen

 

 

 

d) Take the Lizard from the Rat pen and move it into the Lizard pen

 

 

 

e) Take the Rat from the Blackbird pen and move it into the Rat pen

 

 

 

f) Take the Blackbird from the Holding pen and move it back back into the Blackbird pen

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

10. After organizing everything, open the chest, search it to get Betty's wand, and then go back up to get Betty to enchant your broomstick. Now go northeast to Draynor village.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

11. Talk to Aggie in Draynor village and ask her to enchant your broomstick. She will then teleport you to the place where the enchanting will take place.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

12. After teleporting, talk to Aggie again. In order for her to enchant your broomstick, you will need to clean up the magical symbol on the ground. The objective is to get rid of 4 of the 16 lines so that only 4 triangles remain. The image below shows which lines to sweep.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

13. After you successfully sweep the 4 lines, your broomstick will get the final enchantment needed. Talk to Aggie to teleport back to Draynor, and then go west back to Maggie.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

14. Talk to Maggie and she will ask you to stir her cauldron with the enchanted broomstick. Use the broomstick on her cauldron and then talk to her again to finish the quest.[/hide]

Tips, tricks & notes:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

- Each drink from Maggie's goulash will offer you experience in a skill of your choice. The experience you get is equal to your level in that skill times 10.

 

 

 

- If you talk to Wendy after the quest and solve her puzzle, then she offers to turn your cat into a purple color.

 

 

 

- After the quest, you can find other witches in RuneScape to get your broom enchanted by them. Each witch will offer a different reward:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

a) The Apprentice from the Sorceress' Garden mini game in Al-Kharid will enchant your broom so that you can teleport to the garden at anytime. Just wield the broom and then operate it

 

 

 

B) Ali the Hag in Pollniveach gives you 1,997 Magic experience (Level 33 required)

 

 

 

c) The Old Crone near Slayer Tower gives you 7,139 Magic experience (Level 53 required)

 

 

 

d) Baba Yaga on Lunar Isle gives you 10,338 Magic experience (Level 73 required)

 

 

 

e) Kardia in the Underground gives you 14,979 Magic experience (Level 93 required)

Purple Cat Mini quest

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. Talk to Wendy after doing Swept Away and ask about purple cats. She says that she will need magic unguent to color your cat purple.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Go to Betty's Runes shop and go down the trap door. Talk to Lottie and she will tell you that to get the unguent, you must sort the animals again.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. The steps to solving the new puzzle are:

Well I know that its free for two weeks.. BUT, the Sorceress part is not available on Free 2 Play.. Only members... You can't get your broomstick enchanted on free worlds.
