vista service pack 1

Featured Replies

my computer for some reason can't cope with windows vista service pack 1, when i install it my computer just gets dreadfully slow. i've asked the windows customer service for help but they couldn't tell me what the problem was. my specs: 2 gb ram, q6600 2.4 ghz quad core processor, club3d hd4870 ocx.

i can't format my pc (well i don't want to) but i really do need service pack 1..

does anyone have experience with this?

is the installation dreadfully slow or post-install. An install of SP1 on vanilla Vista can take up to an hour.

post install, the install itself doesn't go particularly fast or slow

i've got vista in dutch but i think you do mean this, it's 4.4 (all things but memory (2.0 gb) are above 5.8)

If it's "dreadfully slow", then it is possible you have a virus or a hardware conflict. Download Process Explorer and see what eats up your cpu usage.

Do you have any anti-spyware/virus programs on your computer?

i have AVG..

but the point is i've been in contact with people from windows for over 4 months about this, but they haven't been able to help me.
