Why are Partyhats going down in price?

Featured Replies

Well, I was looking at the party hat prices and most of them have gone down over a 30 day period. I was wondering if anyone knows why? Is there just less demand, or what?

There's so little of them that its impossible, in most cases, to determine why they are going down in price.

It can range from people seeing it's go down so they sell, to players stocking up on supplies for this huge quest that's coming out, which a lot believe the reward(s) will be great.

They aren't, some are going up at the moment; which hat in particular?

Basically, phats are the most worthless items in the game. Before the only reason they were "locked" in a high price was because GE did not update at all. So its not all of the sudden people dont want phats, but rather they were impossible to go down in price. Now the price is being influenced naturally by supply and demand. Exactly the same with 3rd age (only opposite).

Main reason being that with new highly priced weapons and armor, wealth can now be shown off with some actual bonuses to help.

Far from my area of expertise, but i imagine it's because:

- Thry've been worth less than GE price for some time, the GE is just weird in how it changes prices, now things have started moving they will probably drop for some time (then inevitably [bleep]e back up as merchanters lay their hands on them)

- There are more expensive items to buy in recent times, the new shields etc plus summoning costs, means people have other expensive things to buy, causing less demand

- Less RWT = Less people with a really huge pile of cash (at a push)

- It's just a precarious market in general with things like this, very shakey. I remember the time Blues shot from near 50m to near 500m almost overnight, then stayed there for a long long time, it's just a funky market.

That's my guess anyway, others can probably add something more concrete.

So it's just because people don't want them, there useless, and no one has tons of money. Ok. Blue Partyhats have gone down around 20 mil, green down about 24 mil, purple about 20 mil, red about 30 mil, white around 24 mil, and lastly yellow has gone down near 24 mil. So as you can see littleboy, they are going down.

There's a post over on General Discussion that claims they are going up, up, up.

Honestly, there is so much pumping and dumping of merch items on these message boards that it puts Yahoo Finance to shame. #-o
