Harakiri
Part 1: Journey to the Castle Chapter 1: Deadly Prayers __________________________ The monastery was built on a hill outside of the village. It was small looking, though once you walked through the wooden doors of the building, you saw that it was quite larger. It was like an arena. There was a walkway around the perimeter of the building that gave access to a raised platform, where an altar lie and a cross stood. Below were rows of pews, accessible only by going down some stairs. A piano was beneath the platform up front. It was built into the hill, an amazing feat for such primitive people. No one used it anymore though, because none of the villagers followed Christianity. Four years of hard work for nothing but an beat up old monastery. James stood in front of the monastery's altar. The altar was stained with now dry blood. Not ever a good sign. Lanterns hung by chains on the ceiling were waving back and forth though no draft came through the building. The flames in the lamps had not died for a hundred years. There was something happening in this building... "Praying to...whats that man called? Oh yes, Jesus?" The voice came from the door to the monastery. Devon. This idiot had been following James for years. James was a devil hunter. In the business for four years, the best at what he did. One time he took on Satan, that's how good he was. He began to get wrapped in himself, then remembered he had a duty. He refocused on what was happening in the monastery. "Devon, get out. Quit following me." "But I want to be a hunter!" This man was pathetic. He could never be a devil hunter, he did not have the skill. Devon was twenty and continued to follow this dream like demons seemed to follow James. "Go away, you aren't cut out for this job." "I'm in great physical condition!" "But you are not powerful. Your not in good psychological condition!" "How?" "Because your crazy enough to follow me around!" "Just let me help you!" "You are twenty years old. Act your age! Go back to your village and get away from me!" "My parents died because of demons!" "So have a lot of peoples, live with it!" Devon stomped off like a child. James would pay for him to go to a hospital if Devon were not so stubborn. Devon was twelve when his parents died, and ever since, he has been stuck in the past, stricken beyond anyone James had ever met. He needed to go though. He needed to get out of that moment when his parents died, and face the fact that he was twenty, and in danger. Everyone James knew had died by demons except for Devon. It had to happen though... Devon was odd in so many different ways. Every time he showed up, he would say something intelligible before breaking down. There was someone older in Devon, the younger Devon though was overpowering him. Confused? Demon Hunting typically was. James quit staring at the closed doors of the monastery, broke his thought stream, and began rubbing the top of the altar. The blood on it chipped off. It was flaky. It also seemed to move... Suddenly, it liquidized. It poured over the altar and onto the platform. It seeped between wood and fell onto the piano. "Oh crap!" The platform fell forward and smashed into the pews. The cross fell as well, and snapped into pieces. The piano stood there still. The blood was soaked across it like an even coat of paint. The piano started to play a tune by itself. It was sort of eerie, and James recognized it... The anthem to the king of demons. The anthem of Satan. Not good. James pulled a gun from one of the holsters at his hip. He shot the piano five times. Blood spewed with each impact to the piano's top. The piano toppled over and the blood pulled off of it like a blanket. The blood then formed into a villager, a normal looking man, though he had stabs in his stomach. Transformational zombie. Not common, but not high on the demon food chain... "Transformational Zombie: Can turn into a zombie without a body. By using blood and dead skin cells from a live humans, it is able to slowly morph into a zombie."-Demon Hunters Handbook, Chapter 4 Definition 5 James holstered his gun, and drew his large sword from the scabbard on his back. He then ran at the zombie, about to cut it in half. It moved too fast, and avoided the blow. Suddenly, James noticed it at one of the pews, praying, its mouth moving up and down in odd motions, dropping its jaw (quite literally), and then smashing its remaining teeth together. A prayer to the demons. God these guys were persistent. James came at the zombie, and decapitated it. Blood flew in the air, and the head rolled across the floor, stopping at part of the cross. There was then shaking, as if an earthquake were taking place. A portal was opened, and it opened directly above James. Demons fell around him. The demons were large, red, muscular beasts. Must have been eight foot tall, and 1500 pounds. They had no weapons, other than their huge muscles. James rolled under one of the demons blows and cut its arm off in a quick swipe. He then proceeded to kill the rest of them with quick amputations and decapitations. When nothing in the monastery moved but the blood of the demons, and the swinging lanterns, James sheathed his weapon. He then left the godforsaken place. As the door closed, the lights in the lanterns went out. Then, the monastery collapsed into itself. James watched and laughed. Wood heaped as high as the eye could see, and a bit of blood started to cascade down the hill. Then, the hill shook a bit. So it was true. There was a demon sleeping beneath the hill. The monastery must have penetrated it. James did not know why a demon sleep beneath the hill, but he did know he had quite a few questions to ask the villagers... TBC I am back for now...Drama has murdered me, and my dad will apparently never fix my computer so its fun with Dads computer... This is based off of Japanese horror. Devil may Cry, Vampire Hunter D, and Resident Evil, and castlevania inspired me to write this. YAY!

Harakiri
Chapter 2: Answers in the village _______________________________ James sat at a small wooden table, eating the large hunk of meat before him. A glass of water stood beside the meat, and was the only enjoyable part of the meal even though the water was probably tainted by the piss of the local children. Across from him, a young black male sat, eating his piece of meat ravenously. "So, why was the monastery never used?" James asked. The man wiped his lips and eyed James nervously. "We are not christian at all. One of our leaders changed the religion to praise a new lord." "What is his name?" James asked, taking a sip of water. "Dracula." The man replied. Jame's mouth gaped open. Dracula? The last pure blood vampire alive? "Who changed the religion? Why'd you go along with it?" James was going into hostile territory. Someone was probably watching them. There always was. If the wrong people or things were, it could get nastier than it already was. "A man by the name of Leone did. He was the mayor, and declared that modern science had completely decimated the christian religion. It was impossible. So he instead brought forth a religion involving Dracula, who was a real person, who brought the great war of the demons, in which the first humans were made." True story, though a couple things were wrong. Dracula started a war between two factions of humans, oddly enough Christians and his followers, which resulted in the birth of the first demon, Satan. After Satan, there came Valkyrie, and after her, more came, each less powerful, and each different. "So, this was enough to change your religion?" James asked. "Yes. He was a man of great influence. Such knowledge of science! We knew nothing, we are but a small village in the middle of nowhere! Leone was an amazing man, and after he changed religions, the monastery was used no more. It was used for one month, and then the whole thing was never used until a man was sacrificed on the altar in there." "Why?" "I really have no idea." "What if I told you your religion was bringing demons here? What if I told you the destruction of the monastery was because a demon was holding it up? What if I told you that that demon was actually the man sacrificed there? What if I said one of Dracula's men killed him because he was not in your religion? What if I told you a monster, able to bring demons to nonbelievers, lies beneath that hill?" "I'd tell you your crazy." "Thanks for the water..." James got up from the table. "What about the meat?" "Your pretty skinny. Eat some more." James left the house. James stood in front of a store. Blood was blotched across the sign hanging above the door inside. James opened the door, but the handle pulled off in his grip. James threw the handle aside and kicked open the door. It fell off of its hinges and onto the dirty floor. The lanterns were unlit, and the only things James could see were only visible because of the thin strip of moonlight falling between the cracks of the ceiling. That's all the light he needed. A couple zombies stood in the moonlight, and were eating the shopkeepers skin. Blood stained the shopkeepers white apron. One of the zombies looked up at James, and signaled the others. James pulled two guns from his hip holsters and shot all of them in two seconds. Each shot blew through their heads, and James heard the satisfying POW and watched the pinkish brain fly. So, what the hell was going on? James walked the village streets for a while, looking for a sign of something wrong. Nothing for a half an hour, but then, all hell broke loose. A man in a large black duster and tattered khakis stood in the middle of the villages square. He was tall, had white hair, and long fangs. He wore no shirt, so his masculine body was there for the world to see. Dracula. "Very nice to meet you Mr. James. Why are you here? Your a devil hunter. Mind your devils, and leave the vampires be." "Mr. Dracula...sorry to rain on your parade, but you are basically a devil..." "Are you a vampire hunter?" "No, but I sure as hell can be one while your right here." The vampire laughed. "I would advise against that. Severely. I have not fought anyone or anything since my birthday last week, and feel ready to kill you. I am sure Satan would like to see you again..." "Good, I'm also sure a lot of people would rest in peace if you were dead." "You could not kill me..." "We'll see..." Dracula threw a card at James. James took it. Tomorrow night. Midnight. The forest. The wolves will be howling for blood. ~Dracula "Please enjoy your last day on Earth..." Dracula left with a wave. "Girly dirt bag..." James threw the card into a nearby fountain and found the inn. "So, Dracula sent zombies after me? What an insult..." TBC

Harakiri
Chapter 3: Battle in the Forest _____________________________ James lay on a bed inside of the village in. How the place had the money to run James could not figure out. He had been thinking on the bed for hours. Dracula, wolves, zombies. Everything was out of place. Never had he seen such a motley crew of companions. James eventually noticed it was nightfall and took a cold shower. He then pulled on a button down shirt, a pair of khakis, and a leather duster that liked to flow behind him dramatically. He basically wore the same thing as Dracula did the other night. Except that the white button down was left unbuttoned, and a large bloodstain was exposed to everyone on the shirt. In the battle against Satan, James had managed to bring him down. But, as he was about to bring his sword down on Satan's head, Valkyrie showed up and saved Satan. The woman then teleported James back to Earth. Satan's blood would not come out. It was good though, it allowed James to reflect, to remember that he had done the impossible, that he had power. James got his weapons together, pulled a cross from the wall of the room, and left. The forest was darker than the village. Everything seemed dead. The moon shone down on James back, bringing a little light to the otherwise dark scene. After an hour of walking, James heard a trickle. Water... He walked toward the sound and found a stream. He sniffed the water. It was normal. He took a sip, and then began to gulp it down. He came up for air, and then dipped his head back in. He was thirsty...for some reason... The moon was showing James reflection in the water. There was blood cascading down James face... James passed out, into the water... James followed a dirt trail leading through the forest. When he heard a splash, he ran to it. He found a stream, and a dead body. He rolled it over, out of the stream, and saw his face. And on the impostor's face, written in blood, it said: "Follow the trail to hell." James got back up and ran back to the trail. He followed it until he entered a clearing. There was a wolf in the middle of the clearing. It's yellow eyes stared at James with a mix of emotions. The one James saw most was of want for death. That when four more wolves appeared. Dracula had even warned James. It was a full moon... Werewolves. One ran at James, and knocked him off of his feet. It then tried to tear into James neck. James it off of him and pulled his sword out, decapitating the beast. Two more came at him. James kicked one out of the way, and side-stepped the others jump, swiftly decapitating it. The one on the ground got back up and ran at James, this time faking a jump, and instead rushing and biting into James leg. James screamed, but kicked the thing again, square in the nose, smashing its face in. Blood poured from James wound. James had no time to work on it, because the other two wolves turned into humans. With a fine shape. And a large chest... Beautiful women stood before James. They were seductive, exactly the look they wanted. James watched as they walked over to him. They wore skimpy dresses, and high heels. James was kind of drooling...not really... They got on him and began to kiss him... That's when their lips turned into muzzles, and their teeth into fangs. James rolled backwards, hitting his bad leg. "MOTHER..." The wolves were now leaping towards him. James threw his sword to the side, and pulled his guns from their holsters. "Eat lead..." James shot them in mid leap. They both took five shots, each one propelling them further in the air. They then fell and died. James got up and dusted himself off, wiping some blood from the side of his mouth. He then heard clapping. "Good show. Nearly got you didn't they?" Dracula appeared in the same garments as the other night. He now bore a sword. "Ready?" Dracula tensed, shifting his feet into a fighting stance. "God, give a guy a break?" James looked at his bloody leg. "Aw, baby got a boo boo?" Dracula laughed and ran at James. James sword was on the ground ten feet away. James shot at Dracula, but the vampire deflected the bullets, and then came right in front of James. James lifted the cross from his pocket, and shoved it into Dracula's face. "WHERE'D YOU GET THAT?" Asked Dracula. "Had one of the local merchants make one." James threw it between them and grabbed his sword. He then holstered his guns and got into a stance, despite the pain of his leg. "DIE DRACULA!" James kicked the cross closer and prepared to decapitate Dracula, but the vampire laughed and kicked out at James. James fell to the ground. "Die yourself!" Dracula plunged downwards. James rolled away, and got back up. Suddenly, a carriage could be heard. A horse drawn carriage pulled up beside James. The horses were black, and the man steering them was a bulky man, with only one eye. "Good bye James, I have other matters. Too bad I could not kill you tonight..." James laughed and jumped on top of the carriage. He then shot one of the horses in its butt. The monster reared up and ran. Dracula jumped on and James kicked him off. "Bastard..." James muttered. The large man looked up at James and suddenly, James could not move. That one eye was made of stone. It had froze James... And Dracula now was on top of the carriage again. "DIE HUNTER!" Dracula swiped. James suddenly fell in a heap. Dracula's swing missed, and James noticed the man had looked away. He was blind, could not tell what was going on... WHAT? Then why was he steering the carriage? James quit asking questions. He noticed a hole coming up. It was to a sewer, they were close to the village now. James rolled to the edge of the carriage, and then said: "Let me fight you when I'm not already torn up by your minions coward!" Dracula roared, and James rolled into the hole, and splashed into the nasty sewer water. TBC

Harakiri
Chapter 4: In the sewers _________________________ James gasped for air as the sewer water threatened to drown him. He found a little walkway on the left side of the sewer, and threw himself onto it, breathing heavily. His leg wound hurt horribly and as he looked at it, he noticed that it was not bleeding as bad anymore. He got up, pain shooting up his leg. "Damn..." He made his way down the sewer, dragging his injured leg. It took him an hour before he came to a large pit. The sewage spewed down, like a waterfall. "Sometimes I hate my job..." James jumped down. Four seconds of exhilirating air time before he splashed in more sewer water. He splashed to the surface and swam for half an hour, before coming to a wall. He climbed it, and found himself in a large atrium like room. A mosaic was painted on the ceiling, and a man sat in the middle of the heavily lighted room with a crystal ball before him. The man wore black and as James approached, he said: "Welcome nonbeliever. I believe its time to die." "Your the monster beneath the hill?" James asked. "Yes..." "The blood though..." "My tears. When I cry, I cry blood. If I cry enough, I could drown you in blood." James groaned. Why does he even ask. "So are we going to fight or not?" James asked, sighing. "If thats what you want..." Just starting this story back up since its kinda not been worked on for a while...Thats why the chapters so short...larger one soon...
