i can see this working quite well, however. in experience i can't ever see jagex adding a skill that gives such big xp boosts to others. ring of ore is pretty much a mining ring of fire. the fire ring is 2.5%. not to mention with the current state of the economy, jagex is never going to add a money maker. only money sinks. its a nice idea, really well presented and could work quite well. i just don't see jagex adding something like this right now.

so joining. and yes, extremely odd how us females seem attracted to the apparently more mature groups, although having now dived into the clan chat, i'm beginning to reconsider slightly =P

well all i can really say is that, whilst this may sound like me just bashing you for not being able to pay for p2p, or not wanting to, its not. what you have to remember is jagex is a corporation, and as a corporation its single aim is 1) make money. 2) dont go bust 3) make sure people who are paying and fufilling number 1) are happy, hence they pour alot of their development into 3) in order to fufill number 1)and hence 2). whilst i will agree that f2p combat at 70+ combat leaning towards mage is underpowered, the free game was only ever meant for the first half year of your playing or so. never longer. i understand that you might not be able to pay, but all i can really do is just point out the fact that life often isnt fair. the reason i think jagex made magic underpowered above combat 50-70 ish is that many players play rs because its a fantasy game, hence magic is one of the main reasons people enjoy such games. hence a large proportion of the populance of rs use magic alot more than any other skills, i mean it used to be the main money maker, it used be used as auxillary for nearly every skill producing a low demand final object with high value, it is still used as a utility to make everyday scaping easier, and still, used to make money, kill creatures and help with other skills. hence jagex is not going to make one of their best enticements for paying for the huge unlock in mage that comes with mage any less that it already is. all of that said, i'm now going to quote one of the best things a dev from any game has ever said to me, "adapt or die". i adapted by waiting till i was 13 and getting a solo card in england. its your choice really, as you dont pay, jagex doesnt really have any neccesity to give you anything as your satisfaction doesnt really mean much since you've already made it clear you cant pay. again that sounds harsh, but jagex is not your friend, its a corporation that needs to make money, and in the recent financial ""fun"" it cant really afford to give things away for free. just my thoughts.

nice idea zaaps, but maybe you need to look at the minigame approach since it is using 2 skills at the same time, and having a skill add on that is an addon to two different skills is a bit of an odd one, i'm loving the idea of the minigame based on the slayer task system stuck into a minigame, one reason i dont do much slayer is that i get easily bored if i dont get any new shiny things within a day or two of doing something, and if you then made the higher level weapons/spellbook/ranger stuffs drops, with decent xp reward for ever 100 kill or so, maybe like the agility arena with scaling xp increases per soul as you collect more. so say 100 gets you 250xp per soul in choosen skill, and 1000 souls 350xp per soul, and some intermediate numbers. another idea would getting the different dungeons at every 30 levels combined of hunter + slayer so you end up with 1 dungeon at 1 slayer + 1 hunter, 2 at 30 hunter, 30 slayer, and so on maybe in the order of woodland, air, mountain and then artic at 90 of each and at each area each kill is worth a different amount of souls, so that the xp is still quick enough that with the fun, its still alot better than power leveling 90 - 99 i think with alot of thought and work, this could be a brilliant idea as a new minigame, but i just think it takes to much from things we already have to be a new skill or add on to a current skill.

nice story, loved the bit in chapter 3 with the way the character reflects on his past and we get to know him better through that :)

hehe, nice story, i usually only loiter around here, or just annoy xewleer with my lack of knowledge of courtesy's in the forums, but i decided i might aswell post for once :) definately a nice plot, with a funny set of characters and idealisms. hehe, first fight sequence with brayen and hawk was good aswell :P

good lord, thats just incredible :) you must have the patience of a stone wall to manage this without taking lots of breaks from rs occasionaly :o or maybe i just have a complete lack of patience and what you do is normal *ponders*. oh well i guess one of these days i'll get around to cooking and fishing. my hero with the farming and now im going to ask. why on earth didnt you grow herbs and use them all for herblore? or maybe im just crazy and herblore obsessed. good luck with everything else and a pity about f2p, you cant show dem capes off no more.

i've always found that my kingdom provides alot of mid to high level seeds.

heh, i'm going for the 99 ranger aswell, but unfortunately keep on getting distracted with my equally important yet much more exasperating goal of 99 mage and 99 herblore. gl with 50 mill xp on f2p lol, maybe time to switch over to ankhous though?

technically this is impossible but hey he has to start writing somewhere and if his first attempt is bad it might make him decide to really try and be better next time, being a good writing is somehting you have to work towards and he has only just begun so give him some time to learn and get better would you.

your a genius and you write realy serious stories, then archimage does his news thing and makes everything less serious i.e. YOU BALANCE EACH OTHER OUT I read the first chapeter when it first came out and i thought it was to narrow and left it at that, now i see somehow you managed to make the whole thing expand out and its amazing, maybe you'll manage to convince me to write again, i dont know, i dont think this would work at all if archimage wasnt elping you along, or, obviously if you didnt start the story, so now coming to the main part of my message, GET ON WITH IT !!!!!!!!!!

i thought we were trying to reccomand soem music to this guy, not start a fight over the whole concept of metal and other types of music like that. anyway, the basic point is, you define music yourself everyone defines what is and isnt metal in their own way. i would say led zepp where the first metal band, others would disagree, its all and opinion.
