Hide Tanning

Featured Replies

I was looking at prices of some dragonhides and came up with these results.

Green dragonhide - 1571 +20 = 179gp

Green d-leather - 1770

Blue dragonhide - 1950 +20 = 160gp

Blue d-leather - 2130

Red dragonhide - 3146 +20 = 57gp

Red d-leather - 3223

Black dragonhide - 2791 +20 = 282gp

Black d-leather - 3093

The first two numbers are current selling prices, the +20 is the tanning cost, and the last number is profit per hide.

I was just wondering how many I can tan per hour (doing black) if I use terrorbird plus scrolls?

Every run takes around 30 sec.

You can do 120 runs per hour.

You will have 2 spaces for coins + scrolls. So you can take 26 hides per run.

26*120=3120 hides per hour.

Thats 897k per hour  :o

Why dont you clock it yourself and find out? I can do roughly 4.8k hides per hour (rounded up to the nearest ten) at Al Akhard Tannery, but it all depends on your computer speed rate.

One inventory space for coins, the rest for hides (total of 39 spaces, including Terrorbird), start at Al Akhard Bank.

Nevermind, kill me now.

I just bought 3,000 black dragonhides and accidentally offered max. I now have to tan them to break even.

i use kharid bank and i do blues only (greens when the market is right). I don't know about black because the selling of the tanned pieces vary whereas after a couple days/hours after the blue buyers get on, they start buying up tanned blue hides near max.

E: ouch that stinks.

120 trips is an unreasonable estimate. It takes a good 50 seconds from bank to tanner walking so maybe it is 30 running but even there is no way to run for an hour straight. I'd estimate 80-100 trips.

If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.
