cookie1762
After finishing While Guthix Sleeps, I got the dragon lump as a reward. When I sell it, Ill have approx 25M all together (have 13M right now). Should I buy a santa as an investment, or use some of the money for skills? Would love to hear anyones input. ultimatballr
Everyone else is going to tell you to use your money on skills. Just about everyone. Have you always wanted a rare but never had the money to get one? I have. So that's what I am saving up for right now a nice yellow Phat. I would say if you always wanted a santa or a mask or something like that (discontinued) then I would say go for it. Only buy discontinued items if you have no intention to sell them back, thus not caring if they dropped to half their price over the course of 6 months or whatever. If you are looking for an investment, rares are not the market as they were prior to GE and trade limits, so its really not worth it. So if that's what you were hoping for, to make a profit off of it, you can pretty much throw the idea away, as it will take you at least a year and a half to see any significant return on the rare, IF THAT. It could go down even. If a profit from investment is what you are looking for in a rare, don't buy it, go get your skills up instead. But if you have always wanted a rare and do NOT care about gain or loss then I say buy it and be proud of it, enjoy it. Apparently, my signature was to big. UnknownRemoval
I would say skip the rares for now and agree on getting your skills up. On the downside the number of people finishing the quest has increased and the commonness of the lump drop from the Tormented Demon has caused the prices to crash, making them hard to sell, often going with junk. :( Retired Crew Member | Retired RuneScape Player
sir_bubbabob
I would heavily encourage you to buy a santa hat for an investment. Jagex has already told us through their guaranteed content poll that this year's CHristmas reward will be a Santa Coat. I'm anticipating that this will cause the price of Santa's to rise. That being said, if you've always wanted an item such as a Santa or a party hat go buy it. First and foremost you are supposed to enjoy playing Runescape. If getting a Santa Hat will make you enjoy the game more then it sounds like a tremendous investment. Several months ago I chose a Santa over spending the money on training for a skill cape and I still have no regrets.
legilgalad2
If you want to try your hand at merchanting I would recommend buying a santa hat. This is only because Christmas is approaching (which usually causes a rise in prices) and it's definate that the santa suit is going to be released (higher demand as people will want the matching set). However don't take my advice as canon. I am not an experienced merchant :? Woodcutting does not raise your combat level because most people do not play as yew trees. ladycai
Screw the santa hat, save it for skills. You're ranked on Experience, not on cash. Besides, investing in certain skills gives more profit yield in the future ;) 95/99 Summoning95/99 Slayer [hide=This is what you look like when you play RS too long][/hide]
