Hazezor
Hi Over the last 2 weeks I've noticed that palm trees take a lot longer to grow than what the tip.it guide says, now I know that if you pay your farmer to look after your trees, and your tree gets deseased, it takes longer to grow. I'm 94 Farming, i planted all my palm trees exactly 24 hours ago (which im sure of, because I always farm before I leave to school for my exams), and NONE of my trees are fuly grown... Although, 2 days ago, one of my trees were fully grown after 17'ish hours, all the other ones took over 24 hours to grow. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me? Smavey
Yeah well trees can be buggy. (i believe the data from the tip.it guide was taken from the runescape farming guide, which is "correct") I was talking to a friend about it and he's had trees that have taken a few days. And on a related note i was making some ales in port plas this week, and according to the knowledge base and tip.it, it takes usually around 24 hours for it to ferment. It took 6 days! And on top of that it was bad ale lol. So i think something's a little weird with the timer.
ikkevincent
i heard people chatting about this, and they told that it might come from the ammount of times you log in and out. I didnt understood it realy, since joined the chat half way in.
Hazezor
Doubt that, since one of 5 was fully grown after about 17 hours, and the other ones weren't... :S EDIT: Quote from RuneScape's Skills Manual: The various plants available for budding farmers to grow will generally take different amounts of time to reach full maturity. Some take a short amount of time to grow before they can be harvested, while others take several days to grow. Plants grow in real-time, so they continue to grow while you are logged out of the game. 2384 Overall ~ 15 maxed out skillshttp://forum.tip.it/topic/293650-hazezors-blog-old-pictures-2007-a-vid/ --> Check out my blog! pokemama
Our times were originally pulled from the Runescape Manual. At some point Jagex removed them from their website, probably due to complaints such as this, lol. They have built in some delays in the system that may make the trees take longer, though they usually do not. If you pay the farmer, and the tree gets diseased, an entire growing cycle is sacrificed. If this happens more than once ... yeah. We decided to keep our growing times in as a guideline for most players, but we acknowledge that they are far from perfect and exceptions will occur. Our guide says "Here is a list of all trees, xps and times. Note that the listed times are provided by Jagex - if your tree becomes diseased while under the care of a farmer, it will take longer to grow." p.s.: have had some but VERY few reports of the ales, we've tended to assume the player forgot to start it "cooking" with the final ingredient, lol. Players I know who made ales frequently did not report this issue. Please do check back with us if this continues to happen, we can try to collect some data on it. it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*. Kaphias
Right, lets start with some basic knowledge. 1. Composting a patch lessens the chance of disease. 2. If a tree gets diseased while under care of a farmer, an entire growing cycle is sacrificed. Now based off of that, a tree will, on average take longer to grow when it has not been composted. Why? Because there is less of a chance of disease, therefore a less chance of losing a growing cycle, or time. Don't know if that the answer you were looking for, but it is interesting. Always compost your trees. 8,325th to 99 Firemaking 3/9/08 | 44,811th to 99 Cooking 7/16/084,968th to 99 Farming 10/9/09 | Runescaper August 2005-March 2010Tip.it Mod Feb. 2008-Sep. 2008 | Tip.it Crew Sep. 2008-Nov. 2009
pokemama
guide has been modified to reflect the unfixed nature of growing times. it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.
