Triquos
Hey guys, ever since i've quit members I've wanted to make my own game called "Totem" with similar skills and concepts to Runescape, but with skills like Necromancy, Archaeology and Shapeshifting (turning into a creature and taking on its abilities) to name a few examples, different minigames etc. etc. basically my version of Runescape but with a big twist =D Now I love how the Runescape site is set up, it's extremely easy to follow which many other games lack, and I want my game to be set up similar to the way it is, with a few changes (as I don't like the buttons going across etc.) but I'm struggling to find websites with good photoshop tutorials with Runescape-like frames/buttons etc. that I can use to get an idea of what my game's main page will look like :( Here's an example of my banner, it's just a concept at the moment but I just need a visual idea of it, then I can work on it in full detail myself =D So if anyone knows any really good photoshop tutorial websites, in particular ones with frames like Runescape have around their pictures and stuff that would be awesome, and many thanks in advance!! NuckingFuts
I think what you will be wanting is something like Adobe Dreamweaver for the actual coding of the website, and using Adobe Photoshop for the graphics. I've got to say though, I am a bit confused about what it is exactly your looking to create? I mean the navbar in Runescape is more than likely constructed with CSS, along with most of the other elements on the page. This tied in with tables (which you can visually set-up in Dreamweaver) and xml for the content updates, will pretty much get you where you want to go. Pretty much you will need Graphic/Web Design/Game Coding skills to set all this up. As for tutorials for Adobe Photoshop, well it's as simple as typing it into Google. The joy about graphics is that you don't need to follow a designated "frame" tutorial, but rather look at some other pieces of work, and incorporate ideas into what you are looking to achieve.
