Please help me...I have a problem. My best friend in runescape wants me to call her in real life but i'm scared. Before I came to runescape , my life in the real world was really tough.When I was introduced to runescape. Real lifers didn't really like me , they hurt me in so many ways including others.I was blamed for things I didn't do and I suffered. Eventually , I decided to stop talking for good. Everyday I encountered these real lifers, I wouldn't say a word, I stopped talking to my parents , teachers , anybody in public. I wouldn't talk to one person,then, I wanted to talk again but I couldn't . It was too hard...there was nowhere for me to go. Everybody I knew died . When I came to runescape, I had a chance to start over , a new life...

 

I started over, at first , it was just a game. Almost one year later , runescape became my only hope. It was the only place I could talk. Around the year 2003 I met a friend at falador east bank. It was strange how we met but that made it unique. In real life , you just meet people. Simple as that , you meet at a store, etc. In runescape , you can meet anywhere , in the wild, in a dungeon or even in the middle of nowhere.Not only the place where you meet ,its how you meet that person.There was this one person I met in rs that made me feel so hopeful . She was the only that gave me the courage to speak again . There would be times when I was hurt in real life and stabbed in the heart. Everyday , I would talk to her...she gave me confidence. I could believe so much because of her. I didn't just meet her in a store or at school. I didn't meet her in a reality of suffering and I didn't just meet her. I met her in the middle of nowhere , like it was destiny.She wasn't the only friend I met like this , I met so many friends the same way. There were many times , when I wanted to kill myself in the real world. These friends saved my life. They gave me courage and brought me back into the new existance.That friend, she wasn't just a friend , I thought of her , on this hilltop; so windy , at night. I would be on top of that hilltop and she would come running up to me.Then she would hold me and I would believe in her. That's how I felt about her.Together, we flew in the sky , over the ocean , in a dream that lasted forever! With unbroken bonds of the new existance.I DECLARE THESE BONDS UNBROKEN. I will fly with them forever in a dream that turns to the new reality. She made me feel this way about everything and I really want to tell her about everything but I can't talk in rl. There were things we did in rs that wouldnt be possible in real life.That made it true love...meeting her through runescape , knowing her through rs. She's a good person , never hurt anybody and she never got mad. She showed me pics of her and yes, she is really pretty. She looks even prettier to me through RS though. What should I say?!

 

 

 

I'm really shy in real life , I have a disorder called selective mutism , doesn't let me speak in real life. I almost can't speak to my parent's at all and don't talk at all in public. I try...I try to pick up the phone but I just can't! Despite my problem's I set real life goals , I promised her , I would reach these goals. Ill do it for her.Please , I need advice. If you want add me , we can talk in runescape. I can't talk to anybody in real life , so im asking runescapers for advice.

I was tired of real life , crime , war, violence , people hurting each other in so many ways , the sorrow and final sadness.It's so hard to accomplish anything in such a world. However , in runescape , I can be the best firemaker , I can do so much , I will. I was sick of it. So I quit reality. Then I met her. Things changed...I could fly , float in the sky in the whiteness of the bright light. Nobody could stop me . I flew higher and higher until ...I went so high I didn't exist anymore. So I kept going and I became new. She made me feel this way. I never asked to know her through real life. I just want to hear her voice...Im just so shy. She has a myspace...

This is kind of the wrong forum but... do not meet up with her. It's not worth the risk. Seek professional consoling, do whatever you need to do, but don't meet up with someone from an online game in the real world.

Don't tell, doesn't matter. Keep it in Runescape, focus on discussing the personalities of your in-game-characters instead of your real-life characters. Trust me, it's best to leave it in the game. Although you guys have been chatting for over five years, anything online should greatly extend your amount of healthy paranoia. Meeting someone in real life, you start to get a feel for when they're telling the truth or lying. Same thing to a lesser extent over the phone. Online, however, it is possible to be entirely fictional on every aspect of your life.

 

 

 

I'm not saying that this girl (hopefully :-# ) is lying, just that you should be very, very cautious about opening up. It sounds like another blow to your self-esteem and self-respect would really be a bad thing for you, so I'm just advising that you keep your mental armor on and don't drop your guard.

 

 

 

And I'm really sorry about the whole "introverted" thing. When I was a kid I had the same problem, if only to a much lesser degree. If you ever want to chat on Runescape, feel free to send me a pm. Dragoon Z2, as you can see to the left, and I'd be happy to hang out/chat with you in game. To be clear, I'm a guy though ;)

 

 

 

Anyway, best of luck resolving this! I'm not quite sure if this is in the right forum, but we don't exactly have a forum that it . . . really fits in. Remember, positive thoughts! Also, most people you meet in real life are idiots and you'll never interact with them again, so who cares what they think? I don't! I'll act however I please and if you don't like it or dislike me because of it, I know just the place to shove your opinion!

yea i definitely agree with Kellis, it seems that if this is the only good thing going for you in your life than i suggest you hold on to it. Dont ruin it by talking/meeting in real life, you may be very dissapointed, if this girl that you met is even half as good of a friend as you think she is, she would understand that it would be better if you guys kept your relationship in runescape. And congratz to you for finding a way to deal with the life struggles you have gone through, but i must warn you from becoming entirely dependent on runescape to vicariously live through your virtual character. I would suggest not only trying to seek professional help, but try and incorporate some real life social situations into your life, not an big jump but small baby steps. I only say that because i wouldn't want you to just die having only lived through runescape. Im not sure how old you are, but just guessing that you are in your teens, and I want to let you know that your not alone in the feelings/emotions that you are going through, and it does get better. So NEVER give up on life, death is never ever the right answer. if u ever want someone to talk to im always around runescape: Goro Fujita is my rs name if you ever want to pm me or whatnot.
