December 20, 200817 yr Ok so I haven't trained Hunter since level 40, used Tears and xp lamps and stuff to get to 65. Basically, I don't know how to hunt. I am 18k away from 66 (spottier cape w00t!) and I want to hunt chins to get there. I know I need to use box traps but is the bait (spicy tomatoes) needed to trap chins or can I just set the traps down and catch them without using any bait? December 20, 200817 yr You don't need the bait. just get 4 box traps and set them up in whatever way you want.
December 20, 200817 yr Well bait ain't needed and here what I do. Set Trap WHile in the time it takes to set trap I higlight my torch and hover it over the trap Once the trap is set I smoke it. YOu only lose like .5 seconds doing this >.> Unless you accidently extinguish your torch. Wongton is better than me in anyway~~

December 21, 200817 yr Trap tips: go to the hunting spot and kill a couple chins to find out where they spawn. Once you know these spots, set up all your traps around this spot; a square around the spawn spot would be best, although anywhere near the spawn is better than just putting them somewhere in the middle of nowhere. You can decide after some hunting on your own whether to use the bait (DEFINITELY don't recommend it, requires going back to restock, waste of time and not necessary) or whether to smoke the traps (I personally don't bother since chins seem to wander into my traps constantly, but maybe I'm just lucky in my hunting exploits). And imho, I think that salamanders are quite a bit slower than chins. Can't stack the resulting catches, more items necessary to cart around, and it's not profitable. Why bother for a very slightly higher experience rate? Doesn't seem worth it.
