what is the best setup for an F2P (armor, gloves, boots, ring, etc) and how can i obtain these items? right now i wear full rune, fancy boots, dragonhide gloves and a diamond ring.

Ring: Explorer Ring(3) from lumby diary

 

Armour: Full rune and berserker shield for best defence

every thing else should be fine...i just stick to rune kite since zerker degrade

Yes, this is the best setup. Use it and you will get some good bonuses :)

Dont forget the Rune Gloves from FoG, they provide better def bonus than Green d'hide vambrace and have minor str bonus.

FOG is also a fun way to train combat/mage/range
