Penguins

So I found one today, saw that I "had no reason to spy on a penguin and I should talk to Larry the zoo dude". So I talked with him, got my spy book went back, spied on the penguin, back to Larry and 1400 prayer xp! Yay! I think the whole thing is really fun so what do I do next? Is there a cc that is for penguins? What should I put my xp on? And it said something about the Cold War quest. (I haven't done it). What was that?

Thanks for any help! And btw the penguin was south-west of the GE kinda by the cooking guild. Yes. it was today.

Penguins are great! There are 10 hidden all over the world, wandering around, and changing places each week just like the circus. Finding them gets your your skill level*# of points*25 exp in any skill!

For hunting penguins, switch to world 60 and try these chats:

Riods2525

W60 Pengies

Penguins w60

and you should find some people who know where they are in that world. They wander a bit, so be prepared to do some running!

As for spending points, spend them on slow, hard-to-raise or expensive skills. Good examples are prayer, summoning, construction, slayer, herblore, or agility. Any skill you need to raise but hate to train.

Hmm. . . . that would be about all of them. ;) I usually do prayer whenever I get a free xp thing. I want to get 70 prayer but dreading the quests I still have to do and the dragon bones. (shudder)

Do the quest. It's short and fairly easy, and there are still 10 penguins afterwards, just some of them are worth double points! It also gives you agility experience and access to an unused agility arena that's worthless, but still cool.

+ Fun quest.

cold war enables you to get double the points

meaning 12 a week

instead of 6

Not quite. If you have not done cold war then you recive 1 point for each of the penguins you find each week (there are 10 of them). If you have done cold war, then half the penguins are worth 2 points each (these tend to be in areas needing quests such as isafdar, or dangerous places such as the wild).

The best clan chat I can recomend is penguins_w60 (where _=space). They have a thred on the RSOD under distractions and diversions, I belive they are on version 16 (since they redo the thred each week). I recomend reading the thred, it will have locations lists, clan chat rules (for example they will eventualy kick you if you are not on world 60), and they list their overflow chats.

The xp you get is 25 x [your level], so 25xp for a level 1 skill (per point) 50xp per point for level 2 skill etc.

If you have any questions pm me here, I have been penguin hunting for some time, and if I do say so, I know the ropes quite well.

My last point, I would actively discourage using another clan chat, riods comes to mind I have have never heard a good thing about that particular chat, and the people in it are stupid (there the ones that walk through penguin trappers thus releasing trapped penguins).

P.S. World 60 is actualy the penguin hunting world. Even if you are not in a chat, you can usualy find help there because the clans will normally hunt almost every penguin all the time (wild penguins are an exception, or when everyone on has gotten a penguin already).
