Cannoning Ice Trolls

I was interested in cannoning ice trolls :) So here are some questions.

 

 

 

1) W/ my stats would i break even.

 

 

 

2) Would it be faster than yaks?

 

 

 

3) How dangerous is it?

 

 

 

4) How fun is it?

 

 

 

5) What stats hsould i improve to do it?

 

 

 

6) And probably for compfreak only :D how efficient are they compared to yaks/experiments/aviansies?

1. Yes if you aren't unlucky.

 

2. Yes if you range them along with the cannon. The cannon alone will get you about 45k an hour which I believe is slower than yaks

 

3. Not dangerous at all if you pay attention to your prayer.

 

4. Very fun.

Yes, you'll make a decent profit at your level, but prices have fallen since Qeltar released his guide, and other range methods have eclipsed it.

 

 

 

Qeltar's rates were for 90 ranging; with yours, you would be lucky to get 50k an hour even if you ranged. Plus, Qeltar has far higher prayer then you, and as such you will be drinking many more prayer pots for shorter and more expensive trips. Yes, you would probably beat yaks, but certainly not avansies or avansies + chins.

 

 

 

It isn't dangerous, just keep an eye on your prayer.

 

 

 

It's kind of fun, but like all cannoning it begins to get monotonous.

 

 

 

Your prayer really needs to come up to chivalry\piety levels, but 50\55 is a good starting point for now; sinking all your money into prayer at this point isn't a good idea.

 

 

 

It's more efficient then yaks\experiments (slightly) but is much more of a hassle; waste much time setting up a trip, and you've ruined any profit\XP advantage. Avansies blows it away though; almost as fast of XP but much more profit.

 

 

 

EDIT: Yes, I have done it. I wasn't that impressed, though. It got boring fast, the drops weren't that great, it was quite a hassle to keep refilling cannon, it was a pain to set up invo\outfit for a trip, and it wasn't something you could do without paying much attention.

After a good clue I have enough cash for 60 pray. (Which I'm getting) I have an offer on the ge. I might give it a trip or two just for the fun. The other issue is I don't own a cannon so... How long do you think it would take to pay it off?

At trolls? A long time. Not really sure at your range\prayer levels, but I wouldn't expect over 100k profit per hour, possibly less.

You dont need 60 prayer at trolls... Unless the chivalry defencive bonus helps alot, then I guess it'd help.

 

 

 

One thing to cannon for profit - barely losing a thing is ice trolls, so of course you should do it. Its also out of civilisation so it wouldnt hurt.

 

Also, wear a ranged hat from SC if you can.

Only one, your fine with the shield. But lower prayer = more doses drunk = less profit.

When I was doing this one of the things I first invested in was prayer from 50 to 60, due to the fact you need a high prayer bonus (25+) for this, and at 60 prayer you can wear a stole (+10 prayer bonus).

 

I would also say to not copy the TruthScape setup completely, as some items are outdated. You should use Tip.it's stat sorter in the items database to find the highest prayer bonus you can (at 60 prayer, a +34 prayer bonus setup costs around 500k-1M).

 

 

 

Also, unless you stay at the trolls for a long, long time, you will not profit for the cannon, as due to lower prices you can make around 20-50k per hour, more if lucky. So I would always remember than you can sell back your cannon for hopefully what you paid for or more.

 

 

 

And again, don't forget the Fremennik Round Shield!

Yes, only one. 60 = chivalry, helpful in a lot of other places. A good training point, the higher the better.

It affects it quite a bit. I don't remember exact drops, but overall it was decent profit at my levels. Nothing to write home about, though. It got blow away by avansies and chins.
