about protection prayer

not long ago I learned from other players that you can pray at the moment when the monsters attack to reduce the prayer points used. I tried it out at the iron dragons and used only like 2 prayer pots(4) while killed 20+ of them. Is there any thread discussing this tactic deeper and are there any potential problems with it?

P.S. can anyone tell me why aviansies are good money...? I often hear people saying they're going for aviansies and still have no idea why these will do good...

Don't know of any thread discussing the tactic but aviansies drop 4 noted addy bars very regularly and are often killed to train range while making a good profit.

One rule of thumb I always use for prayer flashing is that it's like 2-3 seconds after the monsters hit, that you can turn prayer off. (I don't know if different monsters have different rates of attack?)

[hide=Example]Monster hits

1

2

3 (turn prayer on)

Monster hits (turn prayer off the moment you see that 0 hit come up)

etc etc[/hide]

And yeah, it really does help make your prayer last longer, I use it every time in slayer if I run out of food, to try and extend my trip XD
