January 9, 200917 yr I planted some sweetcorn seeds in the patch north of Port Sarim and placed a scarecrow in the center patch. I logged out and came back an hour later, and the sweetcorn was fully grown. However, the game did not cross out the appropriate section of the diary. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong? January 9, 200917 yr You have to place the scarecrow AFTER you sow the corn seeds. You can just remove the scarecrow(with a spade I think) and plop it down again, but I'm not sure if you will have to plant new crops or not since yours are already fully grown. January 9, 200917 yr I don't know, but I'll tell you this... I had sweetcorn already planted there before the update put the diary into the game...fully grown. I just dug out the scarecrow and re-planted him in the middle (flower) plot and it gave me credit. I think it has more to do with the scarecrow than anything. January 9, 200917 yr I had the same problem. I tried it again, but this time I stayed at the patch, pulling up and replacing the scarecrow every time the corn grew a little. After doing this a few times, the task was finally marked as complete.
