F2P > P2P Setup

Right. Another one of my resolutions was to try P2P for a month. Now obviously I want to maximize this opportunity so I thought I'd train up a bit and earn back a couple hundred thousand cash as well (After all I gave away all my F2P items worth 500k on NYE)

My stats should be posted below in my signature. I'm thinking of training RC upto 50 (It's actually 23) and eventually get my mining upto 70. I'm also one defense lvl away from Combat 90. Although it doesn't show it.

Well...plug in your stats and completed quests into the calculator. See what quests you'll be able to do and which ones you won't have access to because of levels (the other quests will have to wait because some are prerequisites).

My prediction is that you won't want to go back. I had the same idea as you...just try it. Six months later...

Your stats look fine, except for Runecrafting. Get that to 50 and you have access to the RC guild and a good mini-game. Magic...you could train that if you want to get access to the magic guild when you enter the new expanded world (it's in Yanille). Again, do as many quests as you can and if you're going to train something, just train agility...since you can use it on F2P if you decide to quit.

Also...take full advantage of the distractions and diversions each week that you are a member...Tears of Guthix (quest required) and Penguin Hide and Seek (quest recommended). They give you FREE experience. You might also try hunting down a star or two (good mining experience and decent rewards). I'd also look over all the mini-game guides you can. There are a lot more in P2P and some of them give experience as rewards.

If you're not sure that you like it in the first week or two, don't bother training things like hunter or slayer. Construction can be useful if you get to a high enough level to where you can store your items, because you can put them in there instead of your bank which would allow you to go back to F2P.

Fletching will be boring, but probably useful (if you want to make tons of arrows before you leave F2P). Summoning is a money sink (as is construction, but at least construction has that benefit I spoke of earlier). Farming...something to do every day, but takes a while. Herblore...don't bother unless you plan on staying a member (but do the druidic ritual quest early). Thieving is either boring or fun depending on who you talk to.

The big thing you'll get excited about is the treasure trails! Your first clue scroll will be a rush! NOTHING like that in F2P!

Last but not least, try seeing as much of the world as you can and open up as many types of transportation as you can. Balloons, spirit trees, fairy rings...

no...you have to be a member to use the stuff on an F2P world and not just an ex-member. The F2P worlds won't let you go places you couldn't go if you were only F2P...so, I think a glory teleport would work (again, as long as you're still a member), but you couldn't recharge it without A) being a member and B) being able to access the Heroes Guild...quest required.

If you have questions or want help when you become a member, look me up in game.

At combat level 90, It will suck playing P2P unless you have around 4m.

i had like 2m when i started members at like 80 cb, then at 82 i had 4.3m then got lured and lost that pile :wall: .

Members is fun no matter what level you are. If you are f2p and just joining members, you will love the added benefits. There are many new weapons/armour within a 1-2m price range.

I picked flax when i started members: quick money.
