Anyone remember the old Elvarg? -
I think if you find all the minimum levels to complete every quest (for example, X attack, X strength etc...) add the combined xp and compare you'll have a more complete picture. I think many people are just taking into account the actual quest and not the skill levels to start the quest. So all these "reading a guide isn't as hard as grafting on one particular skill" is unfair, because you need to skill in multiple areas to complete one quest. As a small example, to start While Guthix Sleeps by pure skill levels you need: 23 Summoning (6,291) 55 Hunter (166,636) 60 Thief (273,742) 65 Defence (273,742) 65 Farming (449,428) 65 Herblore (449,428) 75 Magic (1,210,421) That's at least 2 million XP, I'm sure adding other higher quest requirements will add up to 13m (isn't that the requirement for 99?) so personally, I would rate the quest cape as a higher achievement than a single skill cape. I could be wrong, though.

No. Craft guild is usually empty thus allowing faster mining without competition. What was your sentence again? Or are you one of those chavs running from the law again? Either way, I do hope something very nasty comes your way.

Then explain what's the fun in targeting users that show no combat gear? It's like trying to explain happy slapping...

Surely you don't fight in PVP just for experience and reputation? Why risk losing gear and loot in return for nothing except an annoyling sprint to a safe spot? Of course there is always duel arena for safe fights, but IMO, PVP renders Wildy useless. I think they should apply the risk=reward rule for any type of training in the wildy, or even double xp. I agree with the ten second protection burst before anyone else can jump in. Within that ten seconds you can either heal, or grab and sprint. I've been target for Pkers in PVP despite wearing costumes, brown apron and rune pick with an invent entirely of gold, annoying but I took the risks knowing I could be targeted. Just prepare better. #-o

Thanks a lot! Yeah I think i'll spend half my time travelling and the rest on quests to get mega quick xp. Also I'll be able to view and merchant out my locked members stuff. Do members transportation work in F2P?

I meant before I switch over.

Right. Another one of my resolutions was to try P2P for a month. Now obviously I want to maximize this opportunity so I thought I'd train up a bit and earn back a couple hundred thousand cash as well (After all I gave away all my F2P items worth 500k on NYE) My stats should be posted below in my signature. I'm thinking of training RC upto 50 (It's actually 23) and eventually get my mining upto 70. I'm also one defense lvl away from Combat 90. Although it doesn't show it.

QFT. This is exactly what I used to do.

I seriously doubt players with cb 130+ and skills 90+ will instantly quit RS just to play Mechscape. What I expect will happen is an crossover quest hyping up Mechscape & the final quest of the current storyline (Which as a F2P'er I don't have a clue what's it all about) on either launch day of MS or the weeks before, during and after so that players have time to tie-up loose ends, create an account and just say goodbye to those who'll keep on playing RS instead of switching over. Of course they'll be big clan reunion events and such like but I feel it's probably going to feel like the last day of school before those who are going college/university and those that are staying around in town. Of course after all the switchover and goodbyes, they'll bring in a new storylines and expansion to keep those still paying & playing RS, well, paying & playing it. Eventually in the long term, if all goes to Jagex's plans, Mechscape will become the flagship and then the future of keeping RS will be very uncertain. But we're not talking for at least 7-9 years here. By then in all honesty, I hope to be doing better things with my time than playing MMRPG's online ;)

Combat = 100+ Total Skill - 1700 Skill lvl - 70+ Quest - Max (From a F2P player)

Creating new life in old places... But how/where?
FatherJack replied to NuckingFuts's topic in General Discussion
Al Kharid surely is a candidate here... From a F2P person, Al Kharid's main attractions are training basic crafting & fire altar. Duel arena? PVP, Clan Wars & Wildy are available. Chasm Mine? Rimmington, Lumby, Varrock, Dwarfen Mines & Barbarian Village all have similar rocks, with most having equal distance to bank. That's not even including the two guilds available. Quests? Prince Ali. That's it. Even Draynor Manor has two. Other than a long walk, entry to Al Kharid costs 10gp, hardly worth it. Yes that becomes free after the quest, but that's not my point. Where else in F2P does it cost to enter? Musa Point and you get much more for your money there. As for shops, other than armour/weapons (G/E is better value), the only shop of worth is the silk trader, of which there are better ways to make £££. If it wasn't for the tanning shop, fire altar and if bored with everywhere else, chasm mine, there is no point of going to Al Kharid for F2P. I also second Ice Mountain and add space, east of Varrock. -
Your least favourite update of 2008.

Trade Limit. Although from what I'm hearing about the Graphical Update (Which now has forced me to use only one computer out of three) that might just take the crown in the long term... -
What I expect: Probably a new area in the northwest, not east, with quests & items. Or a path between Trollweiss and Frozen Plateau. New Dragon items. What I hope for: Enchanted/Jeweled/Blessed Weapons Following the construction (pun intended) of Player city, how about letting us own land to farm, grow trees (such as yew or w/e) etc... Crowns - Enchantable if possible. A simple gold crown would be enough, but place gems and possibly even enchant? woot!

Yeah plus eventually it'll raise my smith. I could also mine gold till 70 Mining (65k away from 70) which yields a much higher profit. Getting into another guild might be a worthwhile challenge, as it's the only one I haven't got access to. Thirdly my merchanting skills aren't that impressive, so I can't see a huge profit from trading the fancy rune (Although if there is a way to change skirt into legs, I would do that. Isn't there a shop that used to allow you to change skirt into legs and vice versa?)
-
First point: Roughly two coal and one iron = 500gp Do I sell the steel bar for a small profit? Or smith it for a loss? (I've got 56 smith) Second Point: Buying ess is overpriced especially when I have the setup to power RC (Wizard Tower - Mine Ess - Water Altar & Repeat) although I wonder if there is any benefit to RCing at all? Members can craft the useful runes whilst F2P can only craft Body runes, which I can't find a use for. Third point: What's the rewards of F2P Treasure Trails? I thought it was members only? TYVM for that link though. I think I'll probably just keep building up :) PS. Is it possible to change a plateskirt for legs without going on the GE?
-
...on F2P. That is the problem. After all I have my rune (Don't see the point of getting fancy coloured rune which has no combat advantage), it's not that much to buy xp, nor do I need any rare holiday item (which even if I did could not afford anyway) Just seems pointless to me sitting there growing...

Not counting Revs, the highest F2P monster is still, the original, Greater Demon (92) who is placed, appropriately, at the very top of F2P Wildy. Other than that, there's a choice of 5 different 70+ monsters - Lessers, Soldiers, Ghosts, Ankous, Skeleton, of which only two drop rune items, one of which is multi-combat and the other is stuck on a island (Bar two, one locked away, the other in a maze). ...which leads me to my first point... Why doesn't Musa Point have a range?! I can understand not having a bank but no range, means for anyone to want's to camp and train, we have to lose an extra 2/3 spaces to carry an axe & tinderbox, thus reducing the amount we can train before returning for food and collecting drops. Argh! Secondly, I agree with the point that when transferring back to F2P from P2P we are left with either dumping members gear that we acquired or have to use a 20 space bank till we rejoin members. Surely there is no loss in simply allowing us to sell our items on the G.E? Create an storage note which can returned upon activation. Thus we can't lose the items (Unless we're stupid enough to lose the note) and we have 67 spaces for which we can use. Another possibility is to allow players with members house to teleport to the confines of the house and use the storage departments there (You could go as far as creating an separate personal safe/bank, that stores upto 25/50 items and place that in the house.) Or finally, just offer us the market (not highest or street) value for the combined total of our items. So instead of having 50 spaces, we have 50k or w/e. Thirdly (Although not F2P related) why have Rune drops from the only two non-wildy monsters almost tenfolded in rarity? I've been training on Cockroach Soldiers (Who supposedly drop both Rune Scim & Sqre) since Friday and not yet had a single rune drop! It took roughly two dozen trips at MP for a Rune Med! PS. Oh and why has Mithril ore plummeted in value? PLO says 400-500 but I'm barely getting 250!

I rediscovered RS again! That in itself is an accomplishment. Plus double bonus, I got my first account back! 8-)

100K is worth a lot to me. The highest valued item I've ever had was an zammy? (red) kite
-
I did try using them but somehow it all got confusing so I thought post the link and you can click to see anyway. Yeah, I was quite surprised to get it back - it's sherman2k for those that want to know. My other lost account is sherman53 but I'll let that go. It's actually quite funny - "I love my 'jack" despite his lower levels. I'm repaying their debt each month actually  I might give members a go after christmas. I don't know - I want to make the best of the experience if I do.
-
I can't even do that. Everything says members object. I'll try a print screen. http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/3614/itemshr4.th.png

I might think of getting members just to turn them into cash but it aint worth £6. Argh! I could items worth a lot (I dunno!) and just dropping them is
-
So Just drop them and move on?
