Both are level 60 which is pathetically low I know.

Really at this point RS is taking a severe place on the backburner to my studies, but I thought I could kill two birds with one stone and get an afkable skill up. My choices are fishing and cooking.

I know cooking would be faster, much faster. But is it better to buy the fish for cooking (if so, what fish should I use for what levels), and then fish for the money back?

Or should I fish all the fish I would need for 99 cooking.

How long do you thing both of these would take?

Yeah sorry for all the questions

Thanks.

Well you could always just cook salmon. From 60 - 99 cooking you would loose 500k Max i think. I think it is even Possible to break even this way.

cooking is really easy, but it is 8 mil to 99 last time i checked.

cooking is easy, if you have the combat skills get 62 in both and go do Swan Song for monkfish, it will get you great xp. 99 fishing for you will be around 350 hours with 40mil profit from monks, while 99 cook would be like 60 hours with 8mil loss.

If you do fish then cook the fish, you will lose 8 mil from the 40 mil that you made, meaning 32 mil grand profit, but two trimmed skill capes.

Its your choice, 8 mil or a trimmed skill cape.

You could also fish all the monks, then sell those and buy the fish you know you wont burn when you are wearing the cooking gauntlets. Cook all the raw, bought fish then go sell those. Idk hwo much money you'll gain/lose but it seems a decent way to go about it.

For Cooking you have many options, each with its own budget:

1.Sharks, that should cost a lot as you only stop burning those at 94 Cooking if I'm not wrong (with cooking gauntlets!).

2.Monk fish, should cost you 8M~.

3.Swordfish (you stop burning them at level 86), not sure about the budget.

4.Lobsters- the most populer IMO, costs 6M~, you stop burning them at level 74.

5.Salmons, IMO, anyone with less than 100M should take either salmons or the 1s below, for the simple reason that you'd only have to cook 35K more fish than lobsters, yet it costs around 5-5.5M less (depending on the prices you buy and sell the fish, if it really matters, wait for the fish to drop in price, buy as many as possible of them, wait for the price to go back up and sell, should cut your losses in about a half).

6.Trouts, these are for low budgets who want 99 Cooking, costs 0-200K (yes you can break even), but is 175%~ more fish to cook than lobsters.

7.Anchovies, correct me if I'm wrong, but that's the only way left to still make a profit from Cooking (as long as you're buying the fish ofcourse), should take about 250%~ of the time it takes with lobsters, and you will make a few mills.

As for fishing, here are your choices from the most profitable to the least (obviously, the least profitable is the fastest):

1.Sharks (too slow, I don't recommend this).

2.Monks (highly recommended if the profit is important).

3.Lobsters, these are not recommended either, it's a tiny bit faster than monks, with a lot less profit.

4.Fly-fishing, there's a big argument about which 1 is faster- Fly-fishing or Barbarian fishing, I choose to stick to Fly-fishing for some reason... The difference is not too big anyway. (From level 60-99 you should make around 6-8M if you bank your fish). Oh, and the best methode for Fly-fishing is doing it in Shilo village.

I did not include swordfish simply because I don't think it's worth it, niether speed-wise nor profit-wise.

Barbarian fishing gives you some cooking exp (cutting the fish) as well as offering some of the best fishing exp in the game.

If you want an afk'able skill, then your best bet for fishing would probably be monkfish, and your best bet for cooking would be fish. The type of fish will vary on the amount you want to spend, but I recommend sharks once you hit your mid-90s...sharks are pretty cheap to cook these days.
