Eldrad_Ulthran
Well, I recently bought a MSI geforce 6600gt. When I plug it into my computer, it doesn't work. I hear all the normal noises of my system booting up, however, no picture shows up on my monitor. The fan on the card runs when I plug the card in the agp (4x) slot, but not when I connect the Molex connector. What should i do??
MasterOfThePuppets
Have you checked to make sure the cables didn't come loose? Also, if that doesn't help, check the card and slot for dust or anything else that shouldn't be there.
Chris
The molex connector you're using, if it's a splitter take the splitter off and use one from a CD/DVD-ROM straight from the PSU. Try that if not I recommend taking it back to wherever you got it. Notoriously Trollish.
Eldrad_Ulthran
Yeah, the cables are plugged in alright, and to make sure it wasn't a power supply issue, I took a connector from a cd drive. The fan on the card spins, but still, no display. I think it's posting now, because i can hear a bleep... :( THe card is agp 8x...but shouldn't it be backwards compatible? Yeah I checked straight away, supposedly the 6600GT works perfectly on 4x AGP. Weird, like I said you might want to take/send it back to where you got it. Either that or if you have a friend that'd allow you to try the card out in their machine to see if it actually works. Notoriously Trollish.
