New Member - Good Melee Training Spots?

I have just made my 2nd account a member. (level 68)

 

I have a dragon longsword and I would like to know good places to train.

 

I have not been a member since 2006, so it is all slowly coming back to me.

Here are some great spots, but some require quests:

 

 

 

-Bandits (no quest required)

 

Always aggressive if you are wearing a Saradomin or Zamorak item

 

 

 

-Zombie Monkeys (Monkey Madness started)

 

Close to an altar, can be 90k+ /hr

 

 

 

-Armored Zombies (Defender of Varrock started)

 

Close to an altar, piety allows for 100k+ /hr training

 

 

 

-Slayer is also a great way to train, with a balance of good drops and experience (with the slayer helm 15% boost)

No, but bring 1 or 2 for the walk to the bandits.

 

 

 

-Armored Zombies (Defender of Varrock started)

This is the best spot in RS for average player. Your xp rates are wrong, zombie monkies are definitely faster, but you lose profit instead of gain profit.

 

Apparently, exp is severely nerfed at armoured zombies if you have not completed defender of Varrock. You may as well finish it, since the armoured zombies only come up towards the second half of the quest anyway.

Eh? I find armored zombies to be faster due to the easiness of the altar recharge, but I haven't done any official tests I suppose.
