Lemeja
I'm trying to get from 60-69 smithing without losing too much. I was going to buy mith bars and make them into bolts but I'll lose 1.5M from that which is too much. I can lose a little money..maybe 1M max but that's as a last resort. Can somebody tell me how I can do it? (Mix of cost effectiveness and speed preferably)
Cptbaker08
You could always play stealing creation and use the hammers to maybe cut the cost in half. And is that 1.5m before or after you sold the bolts? Lemeja
The 1.5M is what I lose after I smith all 3.5K mith bars. And I do have some hammers from SC, I still lose 1.5M with them.
Derrick44444
Superheat mith bars? Not sure about the cost but I heard it's pretty cost effective, not terribly slow. I'll leave the math to you. Wc'ing my way to 99 (Wish me luck)

I'll leave the math to you. +1 i pretty much did 52-70 smith with superheating (about 30k xp with mithril bar smithing from superheating at the guild to get mining xp) and i think i profited a lil 1100 total achieved 03/02/09 880thousandth to reach it :P1200 total achieved 29/09/11 1.23millionth to reach it :P
Lemeja
Is that the same xp as if you smithed at an anvil?
Danqazmlp
Ignore the above posts. Blast furnace with stealing creation hammers (hammers not essential) Upwards of 100k exp an hour, small profits of around 30-50k an hour minimum on last check, would be a bad idea not to. holiehandgrenade
well theres a way to do it and make a nice profit itll take rougly a month but i like it =) get ur coal from the kingdom on miscellania costs only 91 per but u only get roughly 500 a day when its max then buy the needed number of iron to make the steel bars. then make cannonballs its a bit slow but u make roughly 110k per day 60-69 smithing is a nice little chunk of cash
GibberEsh
ug, cannonballs aren't worth your time. besides, you can put your mtk on raw fish, sell that and buy coal for a bigger profit. k besides being off topic, I'd recommend blast furnace if you want minimal loss/gain. you'll probably lose some from the unnoting. Danqazmlp
Wow, sorry to say but my above post was wrong. In the last 3 months, mith ore has risen over 100gp, which now means even the mighty blast furnace is no longer profitable if everything is brought/sold at med g.e. It is still however minimal losses (much lower than almost any smithing) and very fast exp. Want to be my friend?
