need help urgent please!! screen acting verry weird :s

Featured Replies

since a week or 2 my screen is acting verry weird; normally i solve my own computer problems but i really dont know how to solve this :( .we cleaned out the whole c drive, put windows back on,etc... but lost time..nothing helps.

the colors of the screen are all messed up

and btw i have a 15" flatscreen

i'd really appreciate help on this onr ( cuz rune on rs looks like addy with me :? )

It might be a graphics driver. If you got a CD with your graphics card use it to install the drivers that came with it. If not play about with the settings in Control Panel. :P

Finding out what graphics card you have would always be handy too.

but a big thanks for helping( actually the 'big' is from my dad  )

Hmmm... generally, when you ask a person for help, and they come back asking for more info... it's a good idea to provide that info ;)

Anyways... i'll start with the obvious things.

Have you disconnected the video cable from your PC and monitor, and reconnected it ? That's the main cause of discolouration on monitors - pins not connecting properly on the cable connections.

As Chris said, knowing what video card and monitor we are dealing with here would help (make and model). Also, you said it's a flat-screen. I'm assuming you mean an LCD, rather than a flat-screen CRT ?

i have a ATI RADEON 9800XL and the type of screen is LCD

skebab :P

Hmm, either you spilled water on it, or you pushed on or hit the screen often, which might have damaged it a bit. OR check that cables are all connected properly like grin king said, and make sure you have the latest patches and updates from the ATI website.

Sup noobs.

Sometimes trying something so simple as a different cable can work wonders.
