Enchanting bolts requires a lot of clicking, mousekeys can'be (in my experience) be used with that.

They found a way to use mousekeys in even Runecrafting, I'm sure you can use them for bolt enchanting

+1 to all the MTA suggestions. It kicks out alching, so alching should be out of the picture unless you find a way to profit.

You might wanna try Lunar spells, as astrals are generally cheap. Superglass make PROFITS, but is annoying to use. I've heard good things about String Amulet if you can cast that, Bake Pie is also supposedly decent.

Someone on a different thread told me superheating iron ores is very cheap and can get up to 120k an hour. Although....that's a cast every 1.33 seconds, which is shorter than the animation time...so there's room for doubt. But it is CHEAPER than alching, not sure about the speed...

But of course, if you have money and want the BEST way, it would be ice bursting Rock Lobsters. Very quick xp and very quick charms.

Hmmm..the rock lobs and superheating methods sound interesting. They drop anything that can pay for the runes that I would be using? And should I buy ahrims to help me with killing them?

You might wanna do your own tests for that superheating though, and don't get too hopeful is my advice. But if it doesn't turn out to be good, you can still superheat your best metal bar for smithing abd magic xp.

They DO NOT cover the costs, you'll lose 1m per hour. But the xp is very high, something like 200k and you also get roughly 200 crimson charms per hour. It's the fastest way to train magic AND summoning. There's a Rock Lobsters guide in the AoW.

I am guessing the materials I will need will cost around 2mil? If that's true...i'll have 3mil left...how much xp do you think i can get with that?

You won't make it to 85, it's why I said you need lots of money to ice burst.

With your budget, I'd stick to MTA, Superheating (if it's good), and Lunar spells.

So I think i'll do that superheat ,lunar spells, or battlestaves method. Anyone got any idea of how far I could get with with each mehod and about 5mil?

I dont see why you wont enchant diamond bolts. Its apparently something like 150k~ an hour. :|

Look, I have 85. When I avidly trained mage, I did this:

Daily superglass making, blowing into air orbs, enchanting, staving, alching, diamond tip-bolt enchanting, and the MTA to get my

B2P (which I have now) I also did some Ammy stringing, not that much, only have done something like 4k gold ammies.. :wall:

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Forgot to put it i the above post...was gonna try that aswell. I guess i'll try all of them and see what mehtod would be best for me. The pie baking spell sounds interesting though. Oh and the only problem with this is that I won't be able to buy all the bolts I will need at once.

EDIT- MTA sounds kind of complicated and vey costly.

Bake pie is a serious loss. It only is good when you somehow get the ingredients for wild pies easily.
I Guess i'll try the bolt enchanting method. Sorry for my ignorance(or however you say it) but do you profit from this?

Here you seem confused about MTA, I'll post my results I posted on my clan's site here:

Hello all. As you all know, there are 2, maybe 3 well established ways to train magic effectively. 1) Alchemy. This is the most popular option. It averages 62k xp/hour, and costs roughly 170gp per alch (med prices). 2) Lunar spells. From the cheaper version of alchemy (Humidify, may or may not be cheaper depending on Astral prices) to spells like Superglass Make and Superplank Make, Lunar spells are awesome for magic training. The last two actually profit, and are great xp in their own right. 3) Ancient spells, most notably Ice Burst and Barrage. These are the most expensive options of the 3 mainstream methods, but they are the absolute quickest way to level magic.

Well, I'm going to introduce a third, Enchantment at the Mage Training Arena (MTA). Why MTA? Well when I was conforming this method, I was contrasting it against Alchemy. I was basing it of Alching Yew Longs, at a loss of 170gp each.

I believe that compared to Alchemy, MTA is clearly the better option after level 68 (D stone enchant, although magic potion works I believe). I'll take my previous number of 62k/hour xp at alching. I was able to get this on my 1 hour test run of alchemy. Now on a 1 hour test run at MTA using dragonstone enchant, I was able to get approximately the same. (I did not keep careful track during this test.) I decided to do another test. For 30 minutes here are my results. This is 100% accurate since the MTA actually tells you this information when you leave the Enchantment Chamber (well, only 1 piece of it, but you can figure out the rest.)

558 Orbs Enchanted (In other words, 558 casts of Dstone Enchant)

523 Points Gained (Or about 104 cosmics if you buy them back from the Rewards Guardian)

32085 Magic Experience

18 Bonus Cosmics

30 Bonus Deaths

24 Bonus Bloods

And 12% growth on my Sara Bird

Anyway...if we take a look at the Magic Exp, double it and you get ~64k xp/hour. 2k/hour HIGHER than my alchemy average. In addition, cosmics are only 150 gp, compared to the 170 gp loss per alch. So it is also CHEAPER. Furthermore, you get bonus Cosmics, Deaths, and Bloods from the minigame itself. Cool? Last but not least, you can get 208 cosmics BACK PER HOUR if you exchange the points at the Rewards Guardian.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! After 87 magic, you can use ONYX ENCHANT, giving 72.25 xp per enchant! That's 40315.5 xp in those given 30 minutes if I used Onyx enchant. That's 80k an hour of xp. That's almost 1/3 faster than Alchemy.

So what's the catch? Yeah you'll need a lot more concentration. No mindless clicking on the "5" Mousekey button, you'll actually need to be active in the game. But personally, that's a plus for me, since it makes this much more fun. Distractions (talking to friends, etc.) also make a much bigger difference in this, although with skill you can talk and enchant and lot lose much xp. Lastly, you'll be alone the entire time. You will almost never see anyone else. Just you and the Charmed Warriors there. And that fat Guardian.

But how's this compare to Ancients/Lunar?

Humidify: Humidify is exactly the same as alchemy, so I can safely say that MTA is better than Humidify.

Glassmake: The crafting xp is cool, but the magic xp isn't great, and all the banking is bound to kill you. I'd do MTA any day.

Plankmake: Probably the biggest competitor. Compare this to Onyx enchant, since they are closer in level. I cannot do Plankmake, so I cannot test it. I'm unsure about how these two compare. Would anyone like to give me numbers for Plankmake?

Ice Burst/Barrage: These spend too much money for my liking, at least 700k per hour. The xp is fantastic, but so is the cost. However, Ice burst/barrage is a great combination with ROCK LOBSTERS, yielding high Magic Xp, Summoning Xp, and a nice Hits Xp per hour. If you can afford this, do this.

That's my conclusion. I'm dumping the Yew Longs and going to MTA for my Magic Exp from now on :D

So basically to play the minigame itself, you go to any of the 4 corners and grab a full invent of shapes from any pile. You cast your best enchantment spell on each shape, then you go to the center and deposit all the enchanted shapes (orbs) into the chute. You can walk to the chute while enchanting too, that speeds things up.

Diamond bolt enchanting > all MTA except for speedy quick reflexes and concentrating Onyx enchant at MTA

Jw, how much xp is it exactly? And what's the cost?

Read first page, I think I posted cost there.

Well, since its roughly 1.6x faster than alching, It's roughly 1.8x more xp, which is roughly 150k. People have validated this aswell, I havent, I just cant keep on the same thing for so long :P

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Yew longs suck for alching.

Then what do you suggest I alch?

Iron minotaur pouches

Well either my math is really messed up or you're wrong. I calculated it and what I found is that you lose 250gp per alch if you alch iron minotaur Pouches. And I got that would lose 174gp if you alch yew longbows.(I calculated this with the tip.it prices. This is if you bought the pouch/bow at max and the nature rune too.)

Adamant mino pouches work ;)

Adamant Plates(you're talking bout Platebodies right?)are way worse. Again if my calculations are correct, you would lose 563 gp for every alch. :uhh:

Oops, are you serious?

You can buy them consistantly for 9.8-9.9k, and they alch for 9987 or something around that, so isn't the loss more like in the 100s?
